The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its high levels of secrecy and attempting to save as many surprises as possible until a movie's release date. However, it isn't an exaggeration to say Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been overplaying this card.
We're less than half a year away from the release of the wall-crawler's next adventure, and both Sony and Marvel are keeping their cards close to their chests. No official trailer has come our way, and the main antagonist remains under wraps. But at long last, our first look at the film is here... kind of.
Superhero movies are accompanied by merchandise for fans to collect, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is no exception. A backpack featuring art from the movie was revealed, and it offers a look at the wall-crawler, Hulk, and two iconic villains who are set to make their live-action debuts later this year. Finally, we are starting to have a better idea of what to expect when the friendly neighborhood hero swings onto the big screen.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Merch offers first look at Boomerang and Scorpion
Bioworld just unveiled an upcoming wave of merchandise for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which includes a backpack, a fold-over lunch kit, a utility case, a keychain, and a carabiner. If you take a closer look at the backpack's art, you'll see three shadowy figures right behind the friendly neighborhood hero. One of them is none other than Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, while the other two are iconic Spider-Man villains.
The person standing to the right of Peter Parker is none other than Michael Mando's Scorpion, whose suit seems inspired by the villain's design in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. To the left, we see Boomerang, a previously unannounced villain who has now been confirmed to appear in the film.

The art indirectly confirms two previous scoops we had heard about Spider-Man: Brand New Day. For starters, it was reported that the MCU's upcoming film would kick things off with a montage of the wall-crawler facing many "obscure" villains, such as Boomerang, Tarantula, and Ramrod. This sequence will serve to bridge the gap between the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the present day. With each passing battle, we'll see Peter upgrade his superhero suit.
It was also rumored that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man would serve as a blueprint for the wall-crawler's upcoming adventures in the MCU. This idea was reinforced when it was announced that Scorpion and Tombstone—two prominent characters in the Disney+ animated series—would appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Furthermore, it has now been revealed that Mac Gargan's suit in the movie is also inspired by the character's design in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, further adding credibility to the report.
Another interesting tidbit to be gathered from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day promotional art is that Professor Hulk is no more. The Green Goliath isn't sporting glasses anymore, and his iconic "savage" look is back after being absent in the latest MCU movies and shows. Speaking of savage, it has been reported that this version of the anti-hero will be more violent and destructive than ever before. He will cause so much chaos that Spider-Man and the Punisher will need to team up on the big screen.
Fans have been asking to see the Hulk go back to his destructive ways for quite some time now, so it's reassuring to know such a wish will finally come true with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fortunately, it won't be long before we watch Bruce Banner wreak havoc in New York City, along with the likes of the Scorpion and Boomerang.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
