After years of waiting, season 2 of Peacemaker is here. The highly reviewed and shockingly amazing TV show is back with Christopher Smith/Peacemaker (played by John Cena), Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), Agent Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), and the rest of the crew. And, thanks to the plethora of trailers and teasers that were released, we can expect a lot of the same comedy and depth as the first season.
One of the things people should know is that Peacemaker is part of James Gunn’s DCU. That was probably clear after seeing Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) interviewing Christopher Smith to be part of their team (it didn’t go well). It may be confusing since season 1 was in the Snyderverse. Thankfully, James Gunn clarified things by saying everything will be explained during this season.
"I think once people see the show, they'll see how we're using an alternate dimension so much differently than it's been used in any other superhero show of any type."James Gunn

What to expect in episode 1
The season premiere of Peacemaker will do a couple of things. First, and maybe most importantly, it will reintroduce the characters. Everyone’s lives have changed after the events of season 1, Superman, and, most likely, Creature Commandos. That means viewers will need (and get) a quick update on who everyone is and how they’ve adjusted to their new lives. Second, we’ll learn what the big storyline is for this season.
So far, there seem to be two major storylines. One, Peacemaker is leaving his universe thanks to access to the multiverse. And, as we can all guess, nothing good can come out of that. Second, Rick Flag Sr. is after Christopher for killing his son (The Suicide Squad). That could be why Smith is actively trying to leave. That and a feeling of not being useful.
