Peacemaker season 2 episode 2 release time (by time zone), preview, and what to expect

The season 2 premiere of Peacemaker ended with a moment that will change the life of Christopher Smith. There’s no way this goes wrong, right?

The season 2 premiere of Peacemaker didn’t disappoint. All the jokes and action were there, but so were the deep storylines that made this show a hit on HBO Max during its first season.

Christopher Smith (Peacemaker) attempted to join the Justice Gang, but was shut down and embarrassed during the interview. Emilia Harcourt couldn't get a job with any federal agency thanks to Leota Adebayo telling the world about her own mom, Amanda Waller, doing shady things. Leota is also separated from her wife and living in a motel. The only person who seems to be having a good life is John Economos, who feels bad for spying on Peacemaker.

After getting rejected by the Justice Gang, Peacemaker has a drug-fueled sex party at his home. While absolutely hammered and high, Chris walks into his interdimensional room and goes to the alternate reality he discovered at the beginning of the episode. In that world, his brother is alive, his father isn’t a racist jerk, and they’re a popular superhero team called the Top Trio. It was the life Chris always wanted. Sadly, after the alternate reality’s Peacemaker confronts our Chris, he’s killed. We'll have to tune in to episode 2 to see what happens next. And here's when you can expect it.

What to expect in the next episode of Peacemaker season 2

The next episode of Peacemaker will likely show Chris freaking out after killing his counterpart. It won’t be because he’s weird about death. He’ll be concerned that his doppelganger's family will find out. However, judging by the season 2 trailer, Chris will use this opportunity to take the place of the Peacemaker he killed and live the life he feels he deserves. The question will be whether or not he makes things worse in the other universe. We can guess he will.

Another plot we’ll have to follow involves Rick Flag Sr. He wants to send Peacemaker to prison for killing his son (that happens in The Suicide Squad). However, Flag can’t move on him until Chris breaks the law. Traveling within dimensions could be exactly what he needs. But he has to catch him first.

Lastly, pay attention to Emilia Harcourt. She’s violently crashing out. Towards the end of the previous episode, she intentionally got into a fight and smiled after being brutally beaten and thrown out of a bar. The disturbing part is that she smiled. It seems like she enjoyed the pain, and it could be because it’s the only way she can feel something.

Emilia Harcourt’s story could end up being one of the best on the show.  She’s close to rock bottom, and when she hits it, the audience will be left stunned. There's no way it doesn't involve something violent and life-changing. However, the nature of the show means that she may not get a redemption arc.
