Christopher Smith has been having a rough time of it as of late. Peacemaker season 2 episode 6 isn't the only new DC title on HBO Max in the next week
The next episode of Peacemaker season 2, titled "Ignorance Is Chris", is set to premiere on HBO Max next Thursday, September 25, 2025. Like the previous episodes, it will be available to stream from 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 7:00 p.m. CT, and 8:00 p.m. MT. However, it isn't the only title arriving on the streaming service in the coming week to feature John Cena's Peacemaker.
Superman also makes its long-awaited arrival on HBO Max this week, premiering on Friday September 19. The film is also a part of James Gunn's DC Universe and it stars David Corenswet as the titular hero, officially acting as the mainstream introduction to the new franchise (although it's technically the second after animated series Creature Commandos). It's here that we meet the Justice Gang, who also serve as supporting characters in the season premiere of Peacemaker.
Speaking of the "peaceful one", Peacemaker himself made an unexpected cameo in Superman in a scene that very quickly sent the internet into meltdown, as he spoke about Supes' role in the DCU on a talk show. This was the perfect opportunity for Gunn to introduce new audiences to his well-established HBO Max series, ensuring that many will carry on their journey with the DC Universe by checking out the second season when it premiered in August.
Gunn revealed that Superman's unexpectedly early digital release in August was made so that DCU fans could watch it before Peacemaker's new season premiered. However, if you by chance wanted to wait for it to make its debut on HBO Max instead, this is the moment you've been waiting for.
