The amount of disdain for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was astounding. After every show, a plethora of people would say how much they abhorred the previous episode. The complaints varied from it’s not like the show (Marvel Comics She-Hulk writer Dan Slott proved that to be wrong) to the show bringing in Megan Thee Stallion. The complaints helped make the show popular.

When it comes to streaming numbers, a computer can’t tell the difference between hate-watching a show and tuning in because you enjoy it. The numbers are the same. On the internet, all the algorithm sees is "She-Hulk". Who cares if it's detestation? You're talking about it. People will see the comments and may watch to see if the criticism is justified. Also, this writer believes that most people who “disliked” the show secretly loved it. There's a nickel's difference between hate and love.

Beyond the negativity, She-Hulk was a good move for Marvel and Disney Plus. After a couple of years of the same kind of project, Tatiana Maslany starred in a show that wasn’t supposed to be full of action. It was Marvel Studios’ first comedic project.

Marvel and Disney needed to do something new. The sci-fi shows are great, but variety keeps a streaming service popular. Going forward, the creative team will see what did and didn’t work with She-Hulk and bring it to their next show. That’s all thanks to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
