Agatha All Along gets a spooky new trailer
Agatha Harkness is stirring her cauldron and preparing her broom as it's almost time for her to fly back onto our screens. The character is set to return in Disney Plus' upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series Agatha All Along, which marks the first appearance of Kathryn Hahn's bewitching anti-hero since her debut in 2021's WandaVision.
We're just over a month out from the show's release, and to mark the occasion, Marvel Studios has unveiled a brand new trailer for the series. Needless to say, it looks like we're in for one heck of a ride.
New Agatha All Along trailer released at D23
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took to the stage at this year's D23 to discuss some of the upcoming MCU titles. Agatha All Along got much of the focus, which makes sense given that it is the next project from the franchise, and that entailed releasing a brand new trailer (along with appearances from the cast).
Much like the first trailer, this one highlights that audiences are in for a whirlwind of a journey. Agatha is seemingly a tale about Harkness' desire to reclaim the powers that were taken from her. If you haven't seen WandaVision (SPOILER Alert!), she attempted to siphon off Wanda Maximoff's chaos magic, but that only resulted in the Scarlet Witch achieving her true potential and leaving Agatha without any power (and trapped in Westview as Agnes, the character she played in Wanda's sitcom-like fantasy).
But Agatha won't be alone on this journey, as Hahn is joined by a remarkable supporting cast that includes Aubrey Plaza, Heartstopper's Joe Locke, and Broadway legend Patti LuPone. WandaVision's Debra Jo Rupp reprises her role as Ms. Hart, but also as a witch in Agatha's coven. From the looks of the second trailer, all of them agree to set out on the Witches' Road, but not all of them might survive it.
The most striking thing about this show is that it looks like it's going to surprise people. Yes, the trailers suggest that it's loud and colorful, with Hahn's brilliant performance as Agatha shining through, but it also appears to have a darker, horror-driven approach to things. That will no doubt work in its favor as the show is making its presence felt during and throughout spooky season. A slightly horrifying show from the MCU sounds like the perfect Halloween treat!
Agatha All Along will have a special two-episode premiere on September 18.
