Ahsoka season 2: Six ways to improve the show in its next season
By Mark Lynch
More Grand Admiral Thrawn
Star Wars fans love Grand Admiral Thrawn. He’s a villain who doesn’t need super or mystical powers to be a threat. Just being him is enough to terrify people. His speeches and leadership prowess have people following him into the unknown. Ahsoka needs more of that.
Bam Smack Pow writer Camila Domingues wrote, “So, in a galaxy where most good and bad guys rely on the Force, Thrawn's the breath of fresh air with his brainpower and strategic genius." She's 100% right.
Lex Luthor, Joker, and others like them are better villains because they find a way to defeat their nemesis despite being physically weaker. Thrawn is that villain. Disney has a chance to make Thrawn one of the greatest villains of all time and it should start here.
More action
When Star Wars: A New Hope debuted, the action revolutionized the action genre. Decades later, they’re still improving. Fans continue to be amazed by what they're seeing. Season 2 of Ahsoka is another opportunity for Star Wars to lead the way. People enjoy a story, but they also love action too.
There weren’t enough Lightsaber fights in Ahsoka. You can argue that this helped the show. After not seeing a fight for an extended period, it was refreshing when it happened. The fight in space is a perfect example. Nevertheless, sometimes an episode or two full of blasters, Lightsabers, and Force throws would be nice. Not only would it be fun, but it's also a chance to show a character's skills.
