Deadpool and Wolverine looks more jaw-dropping than ever in the new trailer, but there were some sneaky Easter Eggs and references that you might have missed.

As the kids like to say - or Logan and Wade Wilson like to say, apparently - LFG!

Deadpool and Wolverine is just a few short months away from arriving on the big screen and the newest trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film has only left us more excited for its arrival (if that's even possible?!).

The preview clip shows us how Deadpool recruits the tired, worn down Logan for his mission, and how he is reluctant to join him in his quest to save his world. But it also featured a number of surprising nods and references to both the comics and the MCU. With that, let's rewatch the trailer and then breakdown some of the things you might have missed.

5. The comic-accurate (SLEEVELESS) Wolverine suit

When we got our first glimpse of Hugh Jackman wearing the all-yellow Wolverine suit from those set photos, we were all stunned; it was the first time that the X-Men star had worn a comic-accurate suit. And it really was comic-acurate, with the exception of the long yellow sleeves. Hey, we get it: It's a logical idea for any superhero to protect their arms (even if Logan heals fast), but it did leave us wondering about the decisionmaking behind the change.

Well, we don't have to wonder any longer, as the new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer confirms that Logan will be losing the sleeves at some point, showcasing Jackman's incredible physique once again. Needless to say, he looks amazing as the epic slow-motion shot of Logan and Wade slo-mo walking confirms what we already knew: He's the perfect Wolverine.

4. Alioth returns

When a large purple fog descended on the battleground in the previous Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, fans speculated that we might see the return of Alioth; the large cloud-like beast that eats up universes whom we last saw in Loki season 1. The new trailer confirms as much.

We don't see the monstrous formation for long, but there is one shot in the trailer in which the long cloud-like fog stretches across the screen, enveloping the landscape below. If you look at the right hand side of that fog, you can indeed see the creature's fiery, skull-like face.

The running theory is that this is a different Alioth than the one we met in Loki as this Void seems to be specific to the Fox Universe (hence the 20th Century Fox logo and the return of a few X-Men movie characters). Speaking of...

3. Lady Deathstrike and Azazel are back

There is a major scene in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer in which there is a giant Ant-Man skull. Now, it's quite attention-grabbing, so you might be forgiven for focusing all of your attention on that. However, underneath it, you will see a line of people who appear to guarding it, and one of two of the might look a little familiar to you.

Yes, it appears that Kelly Hu and Jason Felmyng will both be reprising their respective roles from previous X-Men movies as Lady Deathstrike and Azazel. Needless to say, this will make fans of the X-Men films even more excited as both were underrated aspects of the saga that never really got the chance to shine that audiences were hoping for - especially Hu, who was underutilized as Deathstrike.

Lady Deathstrike battled Logan in 2003's X2: X-Men United while Azazel appeared in 2011 prequel movie X-Men: First Class.

2. Dogpool Begins

Another exciting aspect of Deadpool and Wolverine is the fact that we are getting multiple different versions of Deadpool himself. One of the rumored variants was Dogpool, and the new trailer has indeed confirmed the beloved animal will appear.

He doesn't have much of a role in the trailer, but there is a hilarious shot at the 1:56 mark of Deadpool holding Dogpool, who is licking his human counterpart's face, as Logan just looks on in disgust. I'm not sure you'll find a better presentation of the madness we can expect in Deadpool and Wolverine than that.

1. Doctor Strange portal

The final sequence of Logan and Wade Wilson in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer shows both of the men desperately attempting to jump through a magic portal as Alioth's fog envelops the land before them. Now, if you're a long-time fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you'll recognize the portals from Doctor Strange (or even that iconic scene from Avengers: Endgame).

The portals are associated with the Sorcerer Supreme, so could Beneict Cumberbatch be making an appearance as Doctor Strange? It's possible given the amount of cameos expected in the movie, but the more likely option is that the actual Sorcerer Supreme could be making an appearance instead. We are, of course, talking about Wong, as actor Benedict Wong has recurred throughout the recent MCU movies and shows more regularly than any other character. Is Deadpool and Wolverine simply the most recent cameo?
