11. Spider-Man 3

In the final chapter of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy, everything seems to be going right for Peter and M.J. ... that is until Peter's Spider-Man suit turns black, a transformation that brings about many changes. Suddenly, Peter is more powerful than ever before but the change to his suit also brings out an unexpected darkness. Peter must find a way not only to overcome the darkness the suit has brought out but also to take down two new threats in Sandman and Venom.

Closing out Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man 3 failed to live up to its two predecessors and was by far the weakest film Raimi gifted us.

In the closing chapter, they simply threw too much into the pot. There were too many villains including the severely underdeveloped Sandman and poor Peter Parker seemed lost in the chaos. Emo Peter dancing? Sure it might be an iconic meme now, but come on, that's not our friendly neighborhood Spidey! Spider-Man 3 lacked the heart and focus that made the first two films so great and it lacked the seamless stream of storytelling the other films delivered.

It's a shame that the franchise ended on such a low note, but at least Spider-Man: No Way Home gave the franchise the redemption it needed.
