When we think about the sophomore season of Jujutsu Kaisen, we think of someone ripping out our hearts, smashing them into a million pieces, and leaving us to put it all back together again. Simply put, this anime put us on an emotional rollercoaster, as it told us the backstories of characters we’ve had such a close bond with ever since the beginning.

Case in point, Gojo Satoru.

At first meeting Gojo, we thought he was an overpowered, annoying guy who, while very, very obnoxious, means well and genuinely wants the best for his students. However, after we learned a little more about his past, we came to understand why he uses humor as a front. We would, too, if we saw our very best friend succumb to the weight of darkness and become the very person we have to fight against.

What’s more, we learned that Gojo never really got the opportunity to be a teenager, the weight of the world on his shoulders at such a young age. There’s so much about Gojo, we wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for season 2. Even still, season 2 is so much more than a backstory filler arc

We are currently watching Yuji Itadori go through more trauma than anyone person should have to bear. Not only did he witness some of his very best friends and allies pass away but he also was briefly possessed by Sukuna, who used his ability to wreak havoc on innocent people. So many died, and while it’s going to take some time for Yuji to heal, we know that this is only setting him up for his beast mode.

What will happen in the rest of season 2 and onward? Only time will tell, but for now, we know that this sophomore season is one of the best seasons yet!

We don't know what 2024 holds, but by the sound of it, we have some stunning anime on the way. As we wait to see what the new year brings, head to your favorite anime streaming services, like Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu, to stream every second of these awesome titles.
