6. The Classic Batsuit

Appeared in: The Adventures of Batman, Super Friends, The New Adventures of Batman

Sometimes you just can't beat the classics. Yes, this is that classic blue-and-grey look we have been referring to on this list, so sit back and prepare to be enlightened as to why this is a Batsuit that set the tone for what was to come.

All Batman adaptations at the time were inspired by the character's comic book appearance, so you had blue and grey Batzy's everywhere. The Adam West and Burt Ward live-action series popularized the look, which was then adapted into animation form in the 1968 animated series The Adventures of Batman. This eventually led into Super Friends, which featured the same versions of the Caped Crusaders. A separate animated series, The New Adventures of Batman, aired alongside the latter but on a different network and it also featured an identical look for the heroes.

This was very much the definitive Batsuit and it has become the blueprint for all animated Batsuits that came after it. The grey bodysuit with the yellow bat emblem and blue cowl is a timeless look that even inspired Batman: The Animated Series' design (which albeit swapped out the blue for black).

If you grew up a Batman fan during the '60s, '70s, or early '80s, this was what the Dark Knight looked like in your head.
