Captain America is coming back to the MCU with an unexpected new look

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga now in full swing, it's a truly exciting time to be a fan of the franchise. Yes, they've had a couple of missteps in recent years, but the franchise is still a titan of the silver screen, with this year's Deadpool and Wolverine expected to rival its golden years of the Infinity Saga at the box office.

While that's the only movie we'll be seeing from the MCU this year, next year promises to make up for the lack of content as there are three exciting titles on the horizon. The first of them is Captain America: Brave New World, which will bring our new Star-Spangled Man back to the big screen.

Sam Wilson took up the mantle in Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and even though he's a regular of the MCU's silver screen outings too, this will be his first one as Cap. And he's bringing a brand new look for that adventure!

Sam Wilson's new Captain America suit looks amazing

The promo train for Captain America: Brave New World has quietly begun and it is already providing us with content. A McDonald's promotional advertisement gave us our first look at Danny Ramirez's Falcon, but it also featured a new photo of Sam Wilson's Captain America, giving us a glimpse of his new suit.

Though we didn't see all of the suit in that particular advertisement, the photo of Sam has now surfaced online in a different ad, showcasing the suit in all its glory. Check it out below:

There is no doubt that actor Anthony Mackie looks awesome in the suit, but it has sparked an interesting discussion among fans online. Obviously it has adopted the traditional red, white, and blue color scheme of the Captain America uniform worn by Chris Evans' Steve Rogers (primarily leaning on the blue) but some actually preferred the more unique look of the suit that Sam wore in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Designed for him by the Wakandans and more heavily armored than Rogers', Sam's suit was primarily all while and it looked incredible on him, paying tribute to the classic design while also feeling very in-line for the character. With that, some fans have questioned the decision to have Captain America's on-screen return require a new suit when the previous one was so good.

Nevertheless, Mackie does look great in the new one, too, and there are certainly elements about it that make it unique to Sam (such as the Falcon shades and wings). The one that will make it most unique, however, has yet to be worn by him in promotional material it seems.

As reported by Heroic Hollywood, new promo art for Captain America: Brave New World has revealed that Sam will seemingly be donning an Ant-Man-like helmet, similar to the one that Joaquin Torres' Falcon has donned in the promotional images. That does indeed suggest that his new wings will be getting a workout and that the new Star-Spangled Man could be spending some time in the skies. And that's very exciting indeed.

While there is indeed an argument to be made for Sam's original Captain America suit being the best, seeing Sam himself in the iconic blue uniform is pretty darn amazing in and of itself. We can't wait to see him take flight.
