Nobody would blame you if you said that Deadpool and Wolverine was your most eagerly-awaited movie of the year (because, honestly, it's probably most people's). The upcoming 34th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to be a game-changer for Marvel's multiverse saga, welcoming Ryan Reynolds' Merc With A Mouth into the MCU fold and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine back to the screen.

The buzz has already been immense, with the recent trailer release breaking the internet for giving us our first in-motion look at Jackman in the Wolverine suit. It also teased us with some of the cameos and returns we can expect from the film, signifying that there are far more to come.

As the hype train continues to roll into the summer, expectations are getting higher and higher, with audiences expecting more and more jaw-dropping moments from the movie. The good news is that the post-credits scene will also look to satisfy those fans.

Deadpool creator confirms mind blowing post-credits scene in Deadpool and Wolverine

There are many aspects of Deadpool and Wolverine that are exciting, and among them is the post-credits scene. If the movie plans on changing the game for the MCU's Multiverse Saga, surely the movie will give us a glimpse of how it will radiate into the future, and just which games it changed. That school of thought seems to be correct, as a new rumor about the movie featuring a "mind blowing" post-credits scene has been backed up by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld himself.

Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a tweet claiming that the post-credits scene of Deadpool and Wolverine is "so mind blowing" that they "can't believe they were able to pull this off without anyone knowing". That right there is more than exciting and Marvel fans agreed, with the internet quickly beginning to speculate about what could happen - or who could appear - in the film's post-credits scene.

To make things even more exciting, Rob Liefeld appeared to confirm the scoop, responding to the tweet: "He's ain't lying to you!".

The contents of that post-credits scene will obviously remain under wraps until the movie itself makes its way to theaters, but the beauty of a film like Deadpool and Wolverine is that the possibilities for it are quite literally endless. The multiverse presents a limitless supply of possibilities, ranging from MCU returnees/debuts to cameos from characters central to previous non-MCU Marvel movies.

Speculation has already begun about what could happen in the scene. The Multiverse Saga's most recent outing, the overlooked and underappreciated The Marvels, featured one of the biggest post-credits scenes in the MCU's history as it contained another direct link to Fox's X-Men saga. We'll not spoil it here, but if you haven't checked the 2023 movie out yet, what are you waiting for?

And thus, fans are wondering how Deadpool and Wolverine could outdo that with its seemingly "mind blowing" scene. As that wonder increases, fans have tossed out names like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man or another major X-Men character as potential possibilities, and they could be right. But again, with quite literally an endless amount of potential for what it could be, we'll have to wait and see what awaits when that mind-blowing post-credits scene makes its way to the silver screen.

Deadpool and Wolverine arrives in movie theaters on July 26, 2024.
