Disney announces exciting change to Agatha All Along release time
By Cody Schultz
With September coming, Disney+ has dropped the official streaming release list for the month which has brought the unexpected confirmation that Agatha All Along episodes will be released earlier in the day than we had first expected.
As revealed via the New on September listings for Disney+, Disney has confirmed that new episodes of Agatha All Along will be released at 9 pm ET meaning the show will be getting a primetime release! This is a welcome departure from the usual 3 am ET drop time with Agatha All Along continuing a recent trend that began with the second season of Loki when Disney+ began experimenting with primetime releases for original series.
The primetime release schedule has worked incredibly well for Disney+ starting with Loki and continuing most recently with Percy Jackson. This primetime release makes it easier for fans to watch the shows at launch with the shows becoming appointment TV as fans are now able to enjoy watching the episodes nightly, thus creating more conversations on social media as more fans are watching the episodes at the same time.
This has also helped fans avoid spoilers for fans unable to watch the episodes when they drop in the middle of the night at 3 am.
Agatha All Along release schedule
With confirmation that Agatha All Along episodes will be released in primetime, we now know that the episodes will be released weekly at 9 p.m. ET which means the schedule is locked and we now know when to expect new episodes throughout the season. Here’s when new episodes will arrive on Disney+ across the season:
Episodes 1 & 2: Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 9/8c
Episode 3: Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c
Episode 4: Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 9/8c
Episode 5: Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9/8c
Episode 6: Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 9/8c
Episode 7: Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 9/8c
Episode 8: Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 9/8c
Episode 9 (Finale): Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 9/8c
What’s going to be interesting is to see how long the episodes as many of the Marvel Disney+ shows have fluctuated in their runtimes. It's likely that the episodes will be similar in length to WandaVision episodes which ran from 27 to 47 minutes long, with the final episodes of the season being among the longest episodes.
