Invincible season 2 part 1 ended with Mark (Invincible) and Nolan (Omni-Man) on Mars finishing their battle with the Viltrumites sent to kill them. Mark and Nolan survive, but Omni-Man is badly injured. As Nolan's taken by the Viltrumites, he tells Mark to read his books. It's a cryptic message that fans of the Invincible comic books understand.

While that’s happening, General Kregg tells Mark that he has to resume his father’s mission and prepare Earth for the Viltrumite rule. Of course, Mark doesn’t want to. General Kregg leaves Invincible with two choices. Option one, Mark can kill some people to prepare Earth for the Viltrum's rule. Option two, the Viltrumites arrive, and find that Earth isn’t prepared, and they will kill millions. You can guess what direction Mark will go in.
