Major legend finally set to make MCU debut in this upcoming movie, reports say
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to iron out some of the kinks that its perfect record of dominance experienced in 2023, it has been gifted with the monumental success of Deadpool and Wolverine. The film was already a resounding success from the moment it was released due to the insanely positive response it received; the fact that it reinforced that with a billion-dollar performance that crossed that esteemed mark just two weeks after its release was the icing on the cake. Marvel is back.
There is excitement in the air as the studio promotes its upcoming titles, including the likes of Agatha All Along, Captain America: Brave New World, Daredevil: Born Again, Thunderbolts*, Ironheart, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. And yet there is one title that all has gone quiet on even though its release is on the horizon. That title is Blade, which is set to star Mahershala Ali and bring vampires to the MCU.
Now, a new report has suggested that the biggest of them all will appear in the movie.
Dracula will reportedly appear in the MCU's Blade movie
According to a new report from Marvel scooper account Marvel News, Dracula will appear in Blade. They don't provide any context as to what kind of a role he could play in the film, but given that he's the most famous vampire in fiction, it wouldn't be too out-there to believe that he could be involved.
Dracula may be one of fiction's greatest characters, but he has also frequented the world of Marvel Comics in the past. The character, every bit as terrifying as he is in those legendary stories he originated in, has made his presence felt in comics for years, even forming a feud with none other than Deadpool.
He is the most well-renowned vampire ever, so having him appear in a Blade movie would be a pretty effective way of introducing the Daywalker into the MCU franchise, especially given their history in both the comics and the movies. Yes, Blade and Dracula have met before, as the ancient vampire was the villain of 2004's Blade: Trinity, in which he was portrayed by Dominic Purcell (and Brian Steele whenever he transformed into his beast form).
Fans have been waiting to see what Blade will be like as part of the MCU. It's no longer a question as to if the studio would tackle an R-rated property as we've already seen that with Deadpool and Wolverine (and TV-MA series Echo); it's simply curiosity about what the world of vampires would look like and how it could be adapted in such an established franchise.
A dhampir, Blade walks between both the worlds of humans and vampires, hunting the latter in a bid to rid the planet of the undead evil. It's going to be very interesting to see how that is adapted in the MCU, and it will be even more exciting if the rumors are true and Dracula does appear.
For now, however, we'll just wait and see what, if, and when Marvel announces more details about the upcoming film. Like its title character, it's an incredibly mysterious one that we'd all like to know a bit more about.
Blade is currently set for release on November 7, 2025.
