Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk, has had an up-and-down life in Marvel Comics recently. During Civil War 2, she became more like her cousin when she was in Hulk form. That lasted longer than expected. Now she’s back to practicing law and her life has improved.

Jennifer is defending superpowered heroes and villains with her former nemesis, Mallory Brook. During that time, she started dating Jack of Hearts, and reconnected with friends (she has Eat Cake in Fancy Dresses Wednesday with Patsy Walker). She even started a punch club with Titania, The Thing, Luke Cage, and more.

In Sensational She-Hulk Nos. 2 and 3, Jennifer had a run-in with her cousin (The Hulk) and April Booth (read Rainbow Rowell’s first run of She-Hulk for that story). This made Tony Stark nervous. He goes to Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, to set up a meeting with Jennifer. Carol gets in touch with Patsy so the three of them can go hang out. In typical superhero fashion, this turns into a fight (this time with demons).

When the fight is over, Carol offers Jennifer a spot on the Avengers team. Captain Marvel says it’s because of Jennifer’s principles, conscience, and ethics. Realistically, it seems like she wants to keep a closer eye on her friend.

There’s been no indication that The Avengers were going to take on a new member. Besides there already being seven members, She-Hulk could be a redundancy. Between Thor, Captain Marvel, and Vision, they have the super-strength category handled. It’s always good to have a Hulk handy, but she’s not needed right now. With that being said, things can change.

In the upcoming months, Thor’s life will be altered. Roxxon is attempting to change the God of Thunder’s origin by buying his intellectual property. In Thor Annual No. 1 (2023), it looked like he was in a pit. If that happens, The Avengers will need She-Hulk. However, if Jennifer finds out Carol lied about why she wanted her on the team, the Jade Giantess will be angry. Trust me, you wouldn’t like her when she’s angry.
