Marvel: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are getting more powerful

Could the Angel behind The Wizard’s attack during Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver secretly be the Wanda Maximoff variant, Lore? Yes and here's why.

Steve Orlando’s comic book series Scarlet Witch is a must-read. Wanda Maximoff has been doing more than saving the world; She’s been helping everyday people. Whenever someone has nowhere else to go, they walk through a door and end up in Wanda’s Emporium. After that, she can get them through whatever’s going on.

They haven't been easy missions, either. Wanda had to dive deep into her bag of tricks to save the day and it's been great to see. One of Marvel Comics' most underrated (and yet powerful) characters has been giving it her all, and it's a true indicator of why fans love her so much.

During Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, Wanda and her brother Pietro are attacked by the Wizard. He’s normally a Fantastic Four villain, but he’s been called on by an Angel to kill the twins. The being needs Wanda and Quicksilver dead because their powers continue to grow (Vision confirms the evolution of the abilities). She says that if they aren’t destroyed it will ruin reality beyond repair. However, this “Angel” could very well be Lore using Wizard to gain access to Earth-616.

There’s a reason why Marvel Comics has promoted the Scarlet Witch artwork and revealed Lore close to the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver finale. Scarlet Witch will start right after this series concludes. It could be a perfect way to piggyback off Marvel's recent announcement about Lore's arrival (which included variant cover art).

Another clue that this could be Lore is the being’s reasoning; she claims Wanda and Quicksilver’s presence will destroy reality. Lore destroyed her world and wants to do the same to the multiverse. The only way that happens is if Wanda is out of the way. The Scarlet Witch is the only person that can stop her. Plus Lore likely holds a grudge from when Wanda beat her the previous time (back in Scarlet Witch, 1994).

No matter the reason behind this, this writer believes Lore will be revealed on the final page of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if I’m right.
