Marvel Studios' larger-than-life universe just got a lot larger. The franchise's Multiverse Saga has been slowly expanding the realm of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since it began in 2021, but that has now reached new heights with the release of Deadpool and Wolverine.

It's the crossover that everyone has been waiting for, bringing Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine together for the second time on-screen in an adventure that has both fans and critics positively raving about it. And rightly so, because it's absolutely phenomenal.

But that isn't the only crossover that fans have been waiting for, and it sounds like the other one could be about to come to fruition as well.

Wolverine vs. Hulk movie is reportedly in the works

According to veteran Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello, a Wolverine vs. Hulk movie is in development at Marvel Studios. The report doesn't state when it could make its way to screens, but given the insider's track record, it's definitely worth keeping this one in your mind for the time when Marvel might announce it.

The truth is that it's really quite possible at this point. With Hugh Jackman suiting up as Wolverine for the very first time in the MCU, he's officially the current version of the character again. And it doesn't sound like Deadpool and Wolverine will be the last time we see him, as there have been an abundance of rumors that suggest both he and Reynolds' Deadpool will be back for Avengers: Secret Wars (or perhaps even earlier than that in Avengers 5).

With a character like Logan, the studio has a blank canvas. He's already an established hero with a backstory that fans are already familiar with. There is no need for an origin story since it's well-documented at this point, and given how this version of the character is now closely linked with the Fox iteration (who Jackman previously played in the X-Men movie series), that would be redundant anyway.

Fans have been longing to see the Hulk and Wolverine battle on-screen for the same reason that they've been excited to see Deadpool go up against Logan; they're both virtually indestructible, capable of withstanding strong attacks from each other and coming out of their battles even stronger. They've been rivals in the Marvel Comics over the years, so it would be pretty epic to see that come to life in the MCU as well.

Whether or not it happens - or Jackman and Hulk actor Bruce Banner sign on for it - remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: MCU fans would be more than ready to see two of their favorite Marvel heroes square off on a screen that probably isn't anywhere near big enough for them. And if you've seen Deadpool and Wolverine, you're probably even more ready for it.
