Marvel rumored to have met with former X-Men star about new MCU role

After bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine, could another original member of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men cast members be following behind him into the MCU? Well, if a new rumor floating around social media is to be believed, another former X-Men might be on Marvel’s radar! 

According to Marvel Updates, Marvel Studios is reported to have recently met with Halle Berry about a potential role within the MCU. It’s not known whether Marvel might be looking to bring Berry back into the mix to reprise her role of Storm, or if Marvel might have met with Berry to discuss other roles but it’s interesting that these conversations are rumored to have occurred just weeks after Deadpool & Wolverine welcomed Jackman and countless X-Men characters into the MCU. 

What’s even more interesting is that this rumored meeting comes after Berry revealed she would have happily returned to play Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine had Ryan Reynolds called to offer her a role in the film. 

"Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, 'Would you ever be in my husband's movie as Storm?' I said, 'Yeah, if he asked me,' but he never asked me,” Berry revealed to ComicBook.com. 

Given Berry’s interest in revisiting the role of Storm and this new rumor about Marvel connecting with her to discuss a role within the MCU, one has to wonder if Marvel might have met with Berry about revisiting the role of Storm. After all, Deadpool & Wolverine wasn’t the first Marvel project to feature the return of characters from 20th Century’s X-Men movies. 

WandaVision featured a cameo from Evan Peters’ Quicksilver, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Patrick Stewart return as Professor X, and The Marvels brought back Kelsey Grammer’s Beast via a post-credit scene that left fans speechless. 

The X-Men are no longer coming to the MCU, they’ve already arrived and there is nothing fans want more than to see more of the original X-Men heroes entering the MCU. If Marvel could pull off bringing Berry back into the mix to play Storm in an upcoming project, that would be an unforgettable moment decades in the making which would surely get fans talking. 

The idea alone of seeing Berry getting the chance to rock one of Storm’s comic-accurate suits is a dream many fans never thought possible. After getting to see Hugh Jackman finally don Wolverine’s iconic comic suits, we can only hope Berry might also one day get the chance to bring fans a comic-accurate Storm.
