Marvel's Echo has officially launched on Disney Plus and it is quite the experience. The first ever in the new Marvel Spotlight saga, the show made history as the first Marvel Studios-produced TV-MA series, setting it apart from its more colorful and heroic counterparts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But Echo is still an MCU installment; look no further than the fact that it's a spinoff of Hawkeye, and thus it does pick up some of the threads explored in that show, particularly in regards to Maya Lopez's relationship with the infamous Kingpin Wilson Fisk, once again played by Daredevil's Vincent D'onofrio.

Echo is a thrill-ride, unveiling all five episodes at once and making fans intrigued by what it has to offer. But it's not all standalone, as its post-credits scene suggested some mighty exciting developments for what is to come.

Echo's post-credits scene sets up Daredevil: Born Again

After the initial credits rolled on Echo, audiences were treated to a mid-credits scene which featured another look at Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. Reeling from the events that transpired in Oklahoma, Wilson Fisk is eager to return to New York City and meet with the "remaining heads" about what had happened. However, his attention is grabbed by a new broadcast on the plane, during which two news anchors discuss the race for New York City's mayor, lamenting that voters need a real "brawler" who the people can get behind.

Fisk's eyes light up at the possibility, particularly as he believes himself to be someone who voters can relate to when it comes to struggles. His recent run-in with Maya forced him to address some of those struggles in his past, and in a way, he saw part of himself in her. And it looks like the people of New York City are about to get that same treatment.

Yes, it looks like Wilson Fisk is planning to run for Mayor of New York City, and that will likely set up his return in Daredevil: Born Again. We know that D'Onofrio will reprise his role in the upcoming Disney Plus series, where he will join Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, reteaming the pair after they played those respective roles in Netflix's Daredevil for three seasons. And early reports surrounding the show's plot tease that Kingpin will indeed be the mayor.

Fisk is always involved in some kind of power play and, in his own way, he loves New York. Running for Mayor of it is totally in line with the character, and it would be a nod to the comics as the Kingpin actually does take up the position of Mayor of New York City in the source material's Devil's Reign storyline. However, Matt Murdock also loves New York City, and you can rest assured that he will be doing whatever it takes to stop his archenemy and keep the streets safe.

But, if we've learned one thing from the post-credits scene after Echo's ending, it's that we're probably about to meet Mayor Wilson Fisk. And that's going to make the wait for Daredevil: Born Again all the more tense.
