9. Cyclops/Scott Summers

A guy who can shoot laser beams from his eyes sounds utterly awesome on paper, right? Yet, somehow, in the grand tapestry of the X-Men movies, our dear Cyclops ends up feeling like the wallpaper rather than the striking painting everyone comes to see.

Despite being one of the original X-Men and a leader in the comics, Scott tends to get lost in the shuffle in the movies, like a side character in his own story. It's as if he showed up to a costume party without a costume. Fans and critics alike have pointed out how Cyclops seems to be just... there, not really getting a chance to shine or develop into the complex, compelling character we know he can be, especially in the original Fox X-Men movies.

Cyclops' potential for deep, engaging storylines often ends up being eclipsed by the more dramatic arcs of his teammates (looking at you, Wolverine). It's kind of like he's the third wheel on an incredibly intense mutant date. Sure, he gets moments here and there, but they rarely dive deep into who Scott Summers is beyond the guy who really needs those special glasses to not accidentally demolish buildings. This lack of development and spotlight has led to fans feeling a tad disconnected from Cyclops, making him one of the less celebrated characters. It's a classic case of a missed opportunity, where you have a character with the power to literally light up a room (or obliterate it), yet he ends up not leaving much of an impression.

So, here's to Cyclops, the leader who could have been so much more than just the guy telling Logan to stay away from his girl.
