The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to killing characters off. The franchise has bid adieu to major impactful characters such as Iron Man, Black Widow, and Thanos. In recent years, it has taken even more risks - rather controversially - killing off Jane Foster and the Scarlet Witch (although they may not be as final as they seem).

Even with the franchise being almost two decades old, it's still taking risks in the storytelling department; even more so in fact. Not all of them have paid off, but all of them have had the world talking about the MCU. And that's a good thing for the franchise.

One risk that has paid off is Agatha All Along. The standalone Halloween miniseries has been a delightful treat this spooky season, but it has also had some repercussions on the MCU in general - and we're just three episodes in!

*** This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS from Agatha All Along episode 3. Do not read on if you would prefer it wasn't spoiled for you. ***

The third episode featured a nod to an infamous Marvel villain, and a shock death that had MCU fans all over the world mourning. But all might not be what it seems.

Sharon / Mrs. Hart may return in Agatha All Along after all

The third episode of Agatha All Along, "Through Many Miles Of Tricks And Trials", ended on a shocking note that saw the apparent demise of Sharon Davis, a.k.a. Mrs. Hart. The character had been dragged into the witchy madness by Agatha Harkness herself who, instead of recruiting the Green Witch Rio Vidal, reached out to her Westview neighbor instead. However, in episode 3, Sharon was seemingly killed.

The episode focused on the coven encountering their first trial on the Witches' Road, which involved drinking poisoned wine and then coming up with an antidote for it. Though they succeeded thanks to Jennifer's expertise, they were unable to save Sharon. It's unclear if she died as a result of being unable to drink the antidote in time, or from the trauma that her unconscious body suffered on the slide out of the first trial, but it was the end for the character. Or was it?

Actress Debra Jo Rupp recently spoke to TVLine about Sharon's apparent demise and asked the outlet how much of the show they had seen. When told that critics had only been sent the first four episodes for review, she laughed and told them that they needed to watch more.

"So, you need to watch more. But yes, I’m very pleased with Sharon’s arc."

These comments certainly suggest that we haven't seen the last of Sharon, and that's something that fans will undoubtedly be thrilled to hear. Audiences fell in love with the character on WandaVision when she was known as Mrs. Hart as part of Wanda's Hex, and were excited to see Rupp return as the real version of the character, Sharon Davis.

Though fans had worried that something might happen to the character as she wasn't featured in all of the promotional material, Debra Jo Rupp is credited as a series regular for the episodes she appears in, so it's unlikely that she only appears in three of the nine episodes. That, coupled with the actor's comments, do suggest that there might be more to Sharon's role on the show, especially if Rupp is pleased with Sharon's arc.

One way or another, it sounds like we might see the character return. Here's hoping that means an official return from the dead and back to her life in Westview because, honestly, Sharon deserved so much better than the treatment she got.

Justice for Sharon!
