IT. HAS. ARRIVED.

This is it, the moment all of us Star Wars nerds have been waiting for - the trailer for the highly anticipated High Republic era show, The Acolyte has said good morning and sent us all in a typing frenzy on social media.

Don't take my word for it if you haven't seen it yet, just watch how good it looks.

First off, Carrie-Ann Moss sent me to the realm of excited fangirl tears. I had been curious as to what expect from her casting and not wanting to read anything ahead as to not set the bar really high, I am so pumped to see her in the Star Wars world. It gave me severe Trinity-with-kickass-Force-powers-vibes, something I didn't know I needed (or craved) this badly. Secondly, a Wookie Jedi makes me incredibly happy - all the diversity!

The martial arts teased in this trailer is also so welcome. Yeah, I get it: Star Wars usually means lightsabers, but it's so refreshing to see other methods of combat that don't include giant glowsticks clashing or people just Force-pushing and shoving each other.

What can we expect from Star Wars: The Acolyte

We can expect a galaxy teeming with intrigue, where a respected Jedi Master, played by the ever-charismatic Lee Jung-jae, finds himself neck-deep in an investigation that smells fishier than Mon Cala cuisine. This is setting up to be a high-stakes game of sabacc where every card flip could lead to disaster.

We see Amandla Stenberg as a warrior shrouded in mystery and danger, a figure from our Jedi Master's past so dark and enigmatic, you'd think they came straight out of the Unknown Regions. This will be the kind of reunion that well set the stars ablaze, launching this Master and his formidable foe down a path so dark, not even the light of a thousand lightsabers could cut through the mystery. What will begin as a quest to unravel a shocking crime spree will quickly evolve into a dance with the dark side, where the music is composed by none other than the sinister forces lurking in the shadows.

As the clues stack up, our heroes (and maybe anti-heroes? The jury's still out) find themselves on a collision course with revelations so mind-blowing, we will probably need to strap ourselves to our seats to avoid floating away in astonishment. The dark path they tread is fraught with danger, betrayal, and twists so unexpected, you'll start questioning everything you thought you knew about the Force.

In Star Wars: The Acolyte, expect the unexpected. All is not what it seems, and the only guarantee is that we're in for a ride so epic, it'll make the Kessel Run look like a leisurely stroll through the park.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 4th.
