Talk about exciting news! The Last of Us fans, brace yourselves because season 2 is shaping up to be insane. We saw Young Mazino has been cast as Jesse, Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby, and now we have confirmation via Variety that Isabela Merced has been cast as Dina! I'm so here for it!

First things first, if you're not on the The Last of Us train yet, you're missing out big time. It's the best video game adaptation ever done, a lovechild of Naughty Dog and HBO based on the super popular video game of the same title. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and has disgusting fungal zombies, some really intense and emotional survival stuff, and characters that you just can't help but adore. Or, you know, wish they were dead.

Now, back to the amazing Isabela Merced. She's not just any addition to the cast - she's a powerhouse. She's got this vibrant energy that's perfect for the role of Dina. And according to the show's creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, she's the ideal fit. They describe Dina as "warm, brilliant, wild, funny, moral, dangerous and instantly lovable." That's a lot of awesome traits to live up to, but if anyone can do it, it's Isabela.

Dina's character is super intriguing. She's a free-spirited person, deeply devoted to Ellie, our main girl. Their journey in this harsh, brutal world is going to be something to watch. Dina stands out with her resilient personality, embodying a mix of strength and vulnerability. She's Jewish, which adds a unique cultural aspect to her character, and her background is beautifully embedded into the game's story. Her relationship with Ellie is central to the story and evolves beautifully.

Her presence adds a significant emotional depth to the game's storyline, making her one of the most memorable characters in the The Last of Us series. I can't wait to see how Isabela brings Dina to life and adds her own flair to the role.

What's really cool is that Isabela has been super busy in the film world. She's got roles in Superman: Legacy as Hawkgirl, Alien: Romulus, and Madame Web. Talk about being in high demand!

The Last of Us itself is a big deal. The first season was a hit with critics and audiences alike. It's snagged a bunch of awards and nominations, including three Golden Globe nods and a whopping 25 Emmy nominations. And it's already bagged eight Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys. Take notes, studios - this is how you turn a video game into an incredible show.

So, with Isabela joining the already stellar cast, season 2 is shaping up to be even more epic than the first. If you're as hyped as I am, stay tuned. This is going to be one wild ride, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds!
