5 things that don't make sense about Spider-Man
2. Peter is poor, yet he creates a lot of expensive suits
Over the course of the years, there have been many different versions of Peter Parker. Each one of them is unique in its own way, and yet they all have similar traits that are considered a core aspect of the character. For example, one of those consistent characteristics is how Peter Parker is always broke. He never has enough money to pay the rent or to help Aunt May, and we all know it. Yet, he's able to create crazy suits that, realistically, should be insanely expensive.
Let's go over some figures, just to have an idea of how much money we're talking about. Each suit in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies is worth $50,000, which needless to say is a lot. Granted, they are expensive because they need to have "movie quality", something that the real Peter Parker wouldn't need to worry about. But even then, high-quality replicas of Spidey's costume made by fans are being sold online for about one thousand dollars.
It's not far-fetched to think Peter could afford to create a one thousand-dollar suit, but when you take into account that he constantly needs to repair it due to battle damage, things start to spiral out of control. And that's not even taking into consideration the hundreds of suits he makes over the years. We're not sure how much our friendly neighborhood hero earns in the Daily Bugle, but we're sure it can't be that much.
