From the end of a DC era to jump onto the big screen, these TV shows may not last beyond their current and upcoming seasons.

The Mandalorian

Disney Plus' The Mandalorian is in a very unusual predicament. It has been renewed for a fourth season, but somewhere along the line Lucasfilm opted to turn that fourth season into a movie titled The Mandalorian and Grogu. But there is still a fourth season in development. The only question is: When would that fourth season take place?

While Star Wars fans are extremely excited to see Mando and Grogu on the silver screen where they belong, doing so in the midst of a TV series confuses the continuity. Sure Star Wars fans are the most passionate of all, and they will know when to go and see the big movie on the big screen on the big release date. The same can't be said for the casual viewers, or those who happen to pick the show up years later and aren't aware that a movie takes place in between seasons 3 and 4.

There is also concern that if the movie is incredibly successful, The Mandalorian as a series would just be quietly ended so that the adventures could continue in movie theaters instead. Movies would also be more accommodating for Pedro Pascal's schedule, as the actor has been very busy in recent years. Two-hour movies would certainly be more feasible than eight-episode seasons, especially as he is also working on HBO series The Last of Us and has recently joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, debuting in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

There is a lot to think about for sure, but there is no question that The Mandalorian and Grogu complicates things, and it could very well lead to the end of the Disney Plus series and the beginning of a new chapter for Din Djarin and "Baby Yoda". If that's the case, we just hope that it gets that final season on Disney Plus that it deserves.
