Man of Steel is the first movie of the DCEU. It premiered in theaters in June 2013. It's wild that it's been more than a decade since the movie premiered.
When the movie premiered, it wasn't critically successful. And, that's a big part of why I think it's underrated now. Sure, there are some problems with the story and the action sequences. Superman isn't exactly the most exciting, visually, in my opinion.
But, this is a good movie. Fans seemed to love Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder's take on Clark Kent/Superman for the most part. There's no doubt that Man of Steel helped launch Justice League and the DCEU. If the movie wasn't successful, it wouldn't have been such a building block for DC.
Looking back at the DCEU, Man of Steel is one of the more successful movies at the box office and with fans. It's just a shame that critics weren't on board the Superman train way back at the beginning of the DCEU.
That's the list of the most underrated movies of the DCEU!
