It's been more than three months since Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was finally released on October 20, 2023. While the game was praised for being a fantastic superhero adventure that improved in every aspect over its predecessor, it was also criticized for missing key features most single-player video games should have. Most notably, New Game Plus and the ability to select a specific mission were nowhere to be found and, unfortunately, still aren't to this very date. However, we finally know when that will all change.

Insomniac Games announced through their social media accounts that the next, big update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming on March 7. We're still a month away from it (at the time of writing this) which may feel like a lot considering those kinds of features are normally included at the launch of most AAA games. However, it's nice to know when we can expect to swing through New York's skyscrapers as our friendly neighborhood hero again with new content this time around.

In addition to New Game Plus, new suits will also be added to the game (in case the 68 already available costumes with color variants weren't enough), so fingers crossed we finally get a Spectacular Spider-Man suit!

Besides, Insomniac notes they will also reveal a complete list of features set to release with their upcoming update. In the past, it was revealed they were also working on letting players change the time of day in the open world, swap the color of the symbiote suit's tendrils, and enable audio descriptions. Maybe all of those changes will also make their way into the game alongside New Game Plus on March 7. The bright side is, we won't have to wait long to find out.

But even if all of this is exciting (and frankly, a little bit overdue), we're still expecting Insomniac to announce new DLC for Spidey's latest adventure. After all, there were some lose ends once players rolled credits on Marvel's Spider-Man 2. So whenever we get news regarding new expansions for the game, we'll make sure to break it all down here on Bam! Smack! Pow!
