It's been a long time coming, but the next trailer for Marvel's Wolverine might be just around the corner.

It's no secret that the wait for Marvel's Wolverine has been grueling, to say the least. The game was originally revealed in PlayStation's 2021 Showcase presentation, alongside Marvel's Spider-Man 2. But while the wall-crawler's latest video game was released almost two years ago and a follow-up is already in the works, we've yet to see a proper trailer of Logan's upcoming adventure.

For the past four years, we've had nothing but silence when it comes to Marvel's Wolverine. Granted, developer Insomniac Games has assured us multiple times that the game is still in the works, but everyone has the same question in mind: When will we get to see more of it? Is a new trailer ever coming our way? Fortunately, a new report suggests our next look at the game is not only ready, but it will be released sooner than expected.

A new Marvel's Wolverine trailer will reportedly be released at the end of September

According to Insider Gaming, a new Marvel's Wolverine trailer is ready to go, and it could be released as early as the next few weeks. It's worth keeping in mind that PlayStation has a flawless record of holding either a State of Play or Showcase presentation every year in September since 2019. While nothing has been announced for 2025 yet, the report claims that a State of Play will take place at the end of the month, and Logan's next adventure is "almost certainly" set to make an appearance in it.

Unfortunately, there could be a slight chance that the trailer could be reserved for The Game Awards in December instead, but either way, it will "undoubtedly be released in the next few months". At long last, the wait is nearly over. Besides, given how long it's been since we've seen anything about Marvel's Wolverine, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that the trailer will include two major details: a gameplay reveal (even if it isn't a full-on deep dive) and a release date.

The infamous Insomniac hack at the end of December 2023 brought a lot of unfortunate side effects along the way. The developer had to alter many of its plans and even go back to square one with some of its games. Assuming that Marvel's Wolverine had a major rework from that very point, then a three-year development cycle is very likely, especially given Insomniac's track record when it comes to its previous projects. That means that Marvel's Wolverine could hit shelves as early as 2026, and the worst-case scenario is that we'd play it until 2027.

Even if the game is still two years away, a new trailer is long overdue. Besides, the first trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 was released in 2016, and the game hit shelves in 2018. Furthermore, there was also a two-year gap between our first official look at Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and its release date. With that in mind, all signs indicate that we'll hear more about Marvel's Wolverine before 2025 comes to an end, assuming 2027 is the latest we'll play it.

With a bit of luck, the long wait will prove to be worth it, and Insomniac surprises players with a violent, yet awesome look at their next big project at the end of September. If not, then The Game Awards is the place to look forward to (but who says the game can't make an appearance in both events? One can only dream).
