We all know he spins a web, any size, and his greatest one yet might just be under construction. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is just around the corner, and it's set to mark an explosive comeback for the wall-crawler in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After a mesmerizing multiversal adventure back in 2021, audiences haven't seen more of Tom Holland's Peter Parker on the big screen. Furthermore, his upcoming movie has suffered from a bit of turbulence behind the scenes, as reports indicate it shifted from yet another tale involving parallel realities to a street-level epic featuring multiple villains. But at long last, a clear direction is finally set ahead of filming.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly start production in late July. With so little time left, many interesting tidbits about the movie are starting to make their way online. For starters, it was reported that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner will have a major role in the story, and that Mr. Negative will act as the main antagonist. To take things a step further, now we know what to expect from the film in terms of the action sequences, and it looks like Marvel is looking to outdo itself.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day to feature the biggest MCU stunt sequence ever

According to industry insider Alex Perez, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature “one of the MCU’s biggest, if not the biggest MCU stunt sequence". It will reportedly take a month alone to shoot, most of it will be practical, and it requires "a large amount of safety coordination". This isn't surprising to learn considering that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will helm the wall-crawler's upcoming movie.

Shang-Chi's theatrical debut is considered by many to be one of the best MCU Phase Four projects, and with good reason. In a time when some action sequences in superhero movies have many cuts, poor VFX, and even a lack of impressive choreography, Destin Daniel Cretton created mesmerizing sequences that made the most out of its titular character's abilities. Let's face it: That scaffold fight still lives rent-free in our minds to this very day, and don't get me started on that bus confrontation.

Peng Zhang, the fight choreographer in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will reportedly be the stunt coordinator in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As such, fans are eager to see what kind of action sequences are awaiting the wall-crawler, whose abilities could make for jaw-dropping and creative fights. Remember how the hero's spider-sense was used to the fullest in that one-shot sequence against Mysterio's drones in Spider-Man: Far From Home? Well, just imagine a whole movie filled with moments just like that one.

Interestingly enough, it was mentioned that Spidey's big, upcoming action scene will be filmed outdoors in a "very heavily populated place". But why is this important? Well, for the time being, we don't have a confirmation of who will act as the main antagonist in the movie, or what kind of supporting villains (if any) are set to appear. So maybe we could finally have a clear answer once this sequence starts filming and set photos make their way online.

If Mister Negative truly steals the spotlight with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then the web slinger would finally go up against an antagonist who is an expert in hand-to-hand combat. There's no shortage of possibilities for inventive and exhilarating action sequences for a Spidey movie, and we can't wait to see how it all pans out with Destin Daniel Cretton in the director's seat.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
