Ever since the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, fans have been eager to watch the conclusion of Miles Morales' epic adventure through the multiverse. Unfortunately, we were met with the announcement that the trilogy-capper would be delayed from its original 2024 release to an undefined date. As if the endless wait wasn't enough, Sony remained silent about the highly anticipated project, which led to rumors about a reboot or even a complete cancellation. Fortunately, all of our worries were quick to fade at CinemaCon 2025.
The first look at Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was unveiled, along with a release date announcement. On June 4, 2027, we'll witness the epic conclusion to one of the wall-crawler's most acclaimed trilogies on the big screen. Granted, it's still a long way off, but with a little bit of luck, the waiting period will feel shorter when announcements and trailers start to come our way. Besides, we might've learned more about the movie's story a bit earlier than anticipated, and it's all thanks to Miles Morales himself.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will reportedly feature multiple Miles Morales variants
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ended with the shocking revelation that the Miles Morales we all know and love was stranded in a parallel universe, where his doppelganger took on the Prowler's evil persona. But if watching two different versions of the same character isn't enough, then we have good news for you. Shameik Moore, known for voicing Miles in the Spider-Verse franchise, recently teased that he will portray three versions of the iconic hero.
The internet went wild with this first potential spoiler of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, given that it's the first "real" plot point that we've learned about the highly anticipated project. However, Shameik Moore was quick to clarify that he meant this is the third movie in which he'll get to voice Miles Morales, and not that audiences will get to witness three variants of him in the future.
3 movies. Not 3 characters.

However, we can't help but wonder if Shameik is simply trying to do a bit of damage control. After all, renowned and reliable industry insider, Alex Perez, has stated that there will definitely be more versions of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, with some being voiced by other actors. Not only would this be a first for the franchise as a whole, but it could also be the revelation of a major story plot point.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miguel O'Hara revealed that Miles Morales was never supposed to become Spider-Man in the first place. That means he's "the original anomaly". Not only that, but because a multiversal spider bit him, there's now a universe that lacks a version of the wall-crawler. However, it hasn't been proved if that theory is actually real and the multiverse is really collapsing due to Miles, or if it's just Miguel's paranoia talking.
If multiple Miles Morales variants are set to appear in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, then we'd have a definite answer. The likely scenario is that they will all have superpowers and act as the one and only Spider-Man, disproving everything Miguel stands for. However, if by any chance they happened to be regular teenagers without a super suit, then it would mean bad news for the one version of the character who altered the course of his original history.
With a bit of luck, the first trailer of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will confirm that audiences will witness many variants of Miles Morales. If not, we'll have to wait until the movie's release to find out how it will all play out. Regardless of the case, June 4, 2027, can't come here quickly enough.
