We might be a little under a year away from the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but its post-credits scene might've already been revealed.

A new Avengers movie will finally be released next year after a seven-year hiatus, and yet all eyes seem to be on a different Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Only one superhero could be capable of achieving that, and it's none other than the wall-crawler himself. Production for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially begun, and all fans can talk about is how Spidey feels like a real character thanks to the set pictures and videos that have made their way online.

Excitement levels are through the roof, not only because Tom Holland will suit up once again as Marvel's most iconic hero, but because a grounded adventure is upon us. While it was beyond incredible to see Spidey join his multiversal counterparts in No Way Home, the idea of going back to his roots and protecting the neighborhood is nothing short of exciting.

Street-level villains such as Scorpion are about to take over, so it seems like the perfect opportunity for a ruthless MCU icon to make his presence felt as well. But will that ultimately be the case? Well, we might finally have an answer.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits scene will reportedly tease a Spidey vs. Kingpin storyline

Ever since it was announced that characters like Matt Murdock and Kingpin would finally be a part of the MCU, fans have wanted to see them cross paths with Spider-Man. That promise partially came true when it was announced that Jon Bernthal's Punisher would appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But what about Wilson Fisk? Well, as the saying goes: The best is saved for last.

According to reliable insider Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus), Marvel's plan is for the Kingpin to fight against Spider-Man further down the line. Even better, that storyline could be teased in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Daredevil: Born Again featured a scene where Kingpin directly references the wall-crawler by mentioning "a man who dresses in a spider outfit". Furthermore, the series' finale had a sneaky Spider-Man easter egg that plays out the moment Daredevil mentions that he'll need an army to defeat the regime of the newly elected Mayor. Marvel has been subtly setting up the pieces for this eventual crossover, and next year might finally cement it as a reality.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2, The Punisher Special Presentation, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day will all be released in 2026. If there were ever a time for both of these worlds to collide, it would be next year. Interestingly enough, the same source also reported that Spider-Man 5 could act as a direct adaptation of the Devil's Reign comic book storyline, where multiple heroes came together to rise against the Kingpin's new order as New York's Mayor.

Such a storyline also opens up the possibility of Matt Murdock and Peter Parker finally joining forces on the big screen. After all, the two beloved heroes are good friends in comic book pages, and such a relationship hasn't translated into live-action as of now. Granted, the two quickly interacted during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but we're all eager to watch them fight bad guys as a team.

Now that the MCU's Multiverse Saga is coming to an end, it's safe to say that more street-level storylines are on the horizon for both the wall-crawler and the Man Without Fear. Hopefully, they will intersect at some point and we'll finally get to witness the crossover we've all been waiting for.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
