As the Spider-Noir season finale opens, Silvermane is reflecting on his rise to power and how he never got comfortable; advice he gives to Cat as he encourages her: never be satisfied and never accept what you’ve been given. He steps away to go to the bathroom as she heads to the phone and calls someone, informing them she needs to see them.

Janet comes to see her at the theater, and she confronts Cat for betraying Ben, as telling Faber about Ben wasn’t her secret to share. Cat claims she did it for love and for Flint. Cat admits Ben is a good man and she can make it up to him. If he gives her the antidote, she can inject Flint and Layden with the antidote, as she can get close to them both without them knowing.

When Janet returns to the office, Hank from the police precinct calls her to inform her that everyone on the force has been given orders to find Ben. Janet heads out as Silvermane’s men follow after her. Janet heads to Robbie’s apartment, and we learn Ben is doing better, but his powers haven’t returned yet. Janet informs Ben about the meeting with Cat and her plan to inject Flint and Layden with the antidote. Ben believes Cat is telling the truth, as she only wants to help Flint.

Before they can take any action, Flint and Layden arrive at Robbie’s apartment to collect Ben for Silvermane. Robbie tries to sneak the antidote into Ben’s coat pocket before they take him away, but Layden rushes him out the door before Ben can grab his coat.

At The Alcove, Silvermane asks Ben to call his spider friend, as he can’t have him out there neutralizing his men with this antidote. Ben says it’s hard to speak with the Spider on the phone, as he’s unable to communicate well over the phone through his mask. Ben strikes a deal with Silvermane for cash and calls the Spider to tell him Silvermane said there are no hard feelings about the other day; he just wants to have a little chat. Robbie helps pull this bluff off by pretending to be Silvermane on the other end of the line.

After the call ends, Ben and Cat chat as they pour new drinks, and she makes it clear she could have told Silvermane he was the Spider, as he points out he could have pointed out that he was the rat. In other words, they’ll keep one another’s secrets out of mutual assured destruction. As they chat, Layden continues to try to piece together where he recognizes Ben from as Silvermane tries to dismiss the idea. That’s when Layden realizes that he recognizes Ben as the man who saved him and Flint from the POW camp. Silvermane quickly pieces together that Ben is the Spider, but Ben claims that he saved the Spider’s life in France.

Silvermane takes Cat’s concealed gun as he says there is one innocent bystander in the room that the Spider would not allow to die. He says the only way he can be certain Ben is the Spider is by killing Cat: if he kills her, Ben is just a P.I., but if he’s the Spider, then he’ll stop him before he pulls the trigger. Cat says Ben will never save her because she broke his heart because she’s in love with Flint and didn’t care who she hurt in the process. She’s tired of hiding as she offers up the rest of the truth. She admits to being the rat, as she wanted to save Flint and she wanted desperately to kill Silvermane.

Just as Silvermane prepares to shoot Cat, Robbie enters the room as the Spider. Silvermane invites the Spider to work for him as Ben asks the Spider to hand over the antidote. Robbie as the Spider comes in a little too hot and Ben tries to subtly make it clear his powers aren’t back before Robbie does anything stupid. That’s when Silvermane’s men come in with Janet, who was found sulking outside the building with the antidote in her possession.

Layden takes the antidote and jabs it into the Spider’s neck to see if things work, as Silvermane then orders him to hand the antidote over. Layden questions why Silvermane is so set on getting his hands on the syringes now that the Spider is no longer a threat, noting that it’s because Silvermane clearly wants control over them. Lonnie threatens to smash the last two vials as Silvermane orders Flint to take Layden down. Layden and Flint begin to face off as the Spider rises. The pair propped the Spider up on the table and unmasked him, which is when they found Robbie under the mask and realized something was off. At that time, Ben’s powers finally returned, and he’s able to get the antidote and momentarily sidelined Flint and Layden, but only temporarily.

Spider-Noir season 1 ending explained

Robbie comes to as Ben swaps back into his Spider costume, while Cat follows after Silvermane, gun in hand. The battle spills out into the streets as Cat continues to follow after Silvermane. In the battle with Layden and Flint, one of the two remaining vials breaks, leaving just one antidote left. Ben musters up the strength to pull two cars together, smashing Flint, who crumbles into a pile of sand as a result of the blow.

Cat follows Silvermane into a mirror maze and begins opening fire and confronts him. After firing off multiple shots, she eventually comes face to face with Silvermane and gets the opportunity to kill him. It’s an opportunity she happily takes, ending Silvermane’s life and securing her freedom in the process.

Out in the street, the Spider tries to reason with Layden, who is growing stronger. While his focus is on Layden, Flint reforms into his solid human form and attacks the Spider from behind, smashing his face into a car and ripping away part of his mask. Layden then continues to shock the Spider and makes it clear he’s been waiting for this moment to get his time in the spotlight as he prepares to kill the Spider.

Just when all hope looks lost for the Spider, Cat walks out onto the street and shouts for Layden to stop. She raises her gun and pulls the trigger, but her gun is out of bullets, and Layden hits her with a jolt of electricity. Flint turns his attention to Layden and begins to fight him, but he’s no match for Layden. Under Layden's attack Flint begins to crumble as his sand-like form appears to turn to glass and shatter. It looks like Layden is going to kill Flint, but the Spider is able to pull Layden off of him and throws him into the distance as a train drives by and hits him, seeming to kill him in the process.

As Cat holds Flint in her arms, the Spider gives her the final antidote to give to him as the Spider then heads out.

We jump ahead to the funeral of Silvermane with Flint and Cat as the only attendees. Ben emerges, and Flint thanks him for his help. Cat tells him she loves Flint, but in a different world she would have run away with him. Ben quips back that it’s one thing to use a guy and another thing to keep him on the hook after setting sail for the shore, and she tells him to go to hell as she and Flint leave. We cut to the Mayor celebrating his reelection as Ben and Robbie enjoy a drink from outside Ben’s office. Robbie mentions getting to run his own paper, the Harlem Herald, and Janet is getting a new office as Ben’s official partner.

As for Ben? Well, even though he won’t admit it, he’s gotten a new lease on life, though he’ll settle for a hot dog. Ben, Robbie, and Janet head out to grab a bite to eat, with our final shot being Ben walking out the door and using his web to grab his hat across the room. He then closes the door as the camera pans out to the shadow of the office’s newly updated sign, “Reilly and Ruez Private Investigators” as the episode cuts to black.
