In the previous episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Caleb finally met his mother, Anisha Mir (played by Tatiana Maslany), and it was as good as anyone could have hoped. Their first interaction started with her grabbing him because he looked suspicious. Thankfully, once she looked into his eyes, Anisha knew that it was her son. Sadly, once she realized Caleb was a member of Starfleet, she felt betrayed. But, like any good mother, when it came time to protect her son and his friends, she was there for them.

After being saved by Captain Nahla Ake, The Doctor, Tig Notaro, the cadets, and Anisha Mir make their way back to Earth. Unfortunately, they can’t get back to the Starfleet Campus. Nus Braka has used the Omega mines to cut off Starfleet from the rest of the galaxy. And with that, the stage for the finale of the newest Star Trek series is set.

What to expect from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode 10

Before the previous episode ended, Captain Ake walked in, and Anisha saw her. Anisha’s response could only be described as understandably triggered: She was staring at the woman who tore her family apart, and she was visibly shaking. It’s unclear if she will be too petrified to act or if she’ll attack Ake for putting her in prison and keeping her from Caleb. Either way, Stark Trek: Starfleet Academy's season 1 finale will probably start with Anisha's reaction to seeing Ake.

Meanwhile, the cadets are about to get a crash course in how to be a member of Starfleet. They’ve only been at the school a year and have had more than a couple of life-threatening moments. That experience will help them in the season finale, but I fully expect a character to die before the credits roll on season 1. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if it happens and who it is.
