The Star Wars saga inspires so many emotions within its fans, and one of the most important is nostalgia. After all, the beloved Lucasfilm movie series has been with us our whole lives (and, in many cases, even longer than that); how could you not enjoy the throwbacks, returns, and cameos that reminded us where the story is this galaxy so far, far away all began.
There have been many legends in the Star Wars story throughout the years. Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, and now Jod Na Nawood. Yep, a who's who of legendary characters - some classic, some modern - with even more legendary stars bringing them to life.
As the future of the classic Star Wars franchise continues to be told on both the big and small screen, it has been confirmed that one of the most beloved characters in recent Star Wars memory will return sooner than anticipated (albeit in a very different project).
Ahsoka Tano confirmed to appear in LEGO's Pieces of the Past
Ahsoka Tano will make her next appearance in the Star Wars universe this year when the character gets involved in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past - a LEGO Star Wars series that will feature an older iteration of the character. Announced at Star Wars Celebration this year, it was also revealed that Ashley Eckstein, the original Ahsoka voice actress, will be returning to reprise her role.
As reported by The Direct, Eckstein is excited about the opportunity, as well as the fact that she'll be getting to voice a LEGO version of the character, saying:
“When I got the call that I was going to be returning as Ahsoka, I cried. I’ve missed her so much. I’ve missed you all so much. This has really been a dream come true. I am such a huge fan of LEGO. I have so many of these Ahsoka BrickHeadz and I now get to voice her!”
A veteran of the Star Wars universe (and at playing Ahsoka), Eckstein first made her debut as the beloved character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, originating the role then and there in 2008. She then reprised the role in sequel series Star Wars Rebels, as well as Star Wars Forces of Destiny and Disney Plus' Tales of the Jedi. She even voiced the character in 2019 live-action movie The Rise of Skywalker.
The character made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian, with Rosario Dawson making her debut in the role too. This was a long-awaited live-action fan-casting that ended up being so popular, it resulted in Dawson headlining the Disney Plus series Ahsoka, which was renewed for a second season shortly after its first streamed on the service. Needless to say, audiences are excited to see the beloved Jedi make her presence felt once again in the Star Wars Universe - both in the second season of her own show and in the upcoming LEGO's Pieces of the Past.
Fans knew that Ahsoka season 2 would be coming out next year but they weren't expecting the character to feature in a separate Star Wars title this year. The fact that the original Ahsoka star would be returning to reprise the role is just another huge bonus.
It's Ahsoka Tano's world... we're just living in it. And she makes her return in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, which streams on Disney Plus on September 19, 2025.
