Darth Maul has wasted little time rebuilding his own criminal empire in Star Wars' newest Disney Plus series. The legendary villain has taken up residence on the planet Janix in order to re-establish his crime syndicate and he has been successfully pulling it off - even relying on the help of those who betrayed him in Looter Vario (who has been forced to work with him to stay alive). It has just presented him with another opportunity to assert his dominance - which he does oh-so-well. But, as Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord rolls on, that doesn't look to be stopping anytime soon.
The saga between Maul and Devon Izara took some interesting turns in the most recent episodes, as the latter proved herself a formidable Jedi. Maul was more than willing to let her go when she earned her freedom, but he seems to think that she will return to him someday soon, hoping that she might be a future apprentice for him. Considering how things are set to go in the coming episodes, that might not be the craziest idea. And with that, here's when you can anticipate the next two episodes of the show.

What to expect from Maul – Shadow Lord episodes 5 and 6
We have officially reached the halfway point of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord's first season and it has already proven to be a heck of a ride thus far. But, based on how the previous episodes ended, things are destined to reach new highs in the coming installments.
Despite Captain Brander Lawson's best attempts to keep a lid on the Maul situation, his droid friend and colleague Two-Boots felt it his duty to alert the Empire to the villain's criminal operations on Janix. When the Empire takes over a planet, it rarely leaves. And, with that, Maul and Lawson may quickly develop a common enemy.
Maul showed Lawson an unexpected amount of respect in the previous episode when he offered to protect him and the people of Janix if they looked the other way in regards to his questionable activities, but the honorable officer refused to do that. Could this lead to an unlikely alliance between the pair down the line if the Empire proves to be problem for both of them - which it likely will.
And speaking of common threats, Devon likely won't want the Empire arriving at her home either. So perhaps Maul's plan of having her return to him someday could end up working out. Could we see an uneasy alliance between all three parties here? After all, as Star Wars fans know, the Empire is the true enemy here.
