Disney Plus took us back to the post-Clone Wars era of the Star Wars franchise with the first season of the heavily-anticipated Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Focusing on the highly underrated villain, it has allowed us to see the mythical Maul in a new light as he has carefully rebuilt his crime syndicate on the planet Janix, reached out to a potential protégé and even offered the planet's law enforcement protection if they turned a blind eye to his misdeeds.

Somehow, we have reached the first season's conclusion as Maul's season finale is upon us. The good news is that the show will be back for a second season, but its unique release schedule - of two episodes a week - has brought the season 1 finale closer to us all sooner than many of us expected. Here's exactly when you can anticipate it.

When Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord episodes 9 and 10 come out on Disney Plus where you live

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord episodes 9 and 10 premiere on Disney Plus a 12 am local time in each respective time zone. This marks a change from previous episodes, which all premiered simultaneously around the world. But, in honor of Star Wars Day, Maul's finale episodes will have a rolling release time, meaning that different countries will gain access to them at different times - with it arriving at midnight in each and every time zone.

The final two episodes of the series' first season, "Strange Allies", and "Finale", will premiere together as the show continues its unexpected release format of unveiling two new episodes at a time. This time, the double bill gets to act as something of a two-part finale, allowing both of these episodes to help the show bow out in for its hiatus in memorable fashion.

What to expect from Maul – Shadow Lord episodes 9 and 10

What better way to celebrate Star Wars Day than with a new installment from that galaxy so far, far away?! Even better: Two installments from that galaxy so far, far away. Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord  continues a long-standing Disney Plus tradition of releasing new Star Wars content on the special May 4 occasion and this year is no different. And with that, there's an even greater exciting element to what is already going to be an epic two-part finale.

Maul and his allies, along with his enemies, have all been trying to stay off the Empire's radar, but things got very real when Officer Lawson's friend and colleague Two-Boots summoned the Empire to Janix. Although Lawson was attempting to apprehend Maul using the planet's own law enforcement, Two-Boots deemed the threat too great and alerted the Empire. The stakes have been higher than ever ever since.

It's all been building to this for Maul, Lawson, Devon Izara, and the rest of our Shadow Lord favorites. Considering that the show hasn't really stopped since it premiered on the Disney Plus streaming service, we have no doubt that its season 1 finale is going to deliver on all fronts. It's just the beginning for the Shadow Lord and his greatest adventures are likely yet to come.

We are so ready for that!
