It's been quite the adventure for the Skeleton Crew so far. The most recent Star Wars series to make its presence felt on Disney Plus has been a welcome change of pace for the franchise, offering us up something that that most famous galaxy so far, far away has not yet seen: A coming-of-age story.
But Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has taken quite the unexpected turn in recent weeks. After proving himself to his young crew in the fourth episode of the season, Jod (Jude Law) delivered the ultimate betrayal, challenging Fern to combat for the captaincy of the ship - a rule that SM-33 had to enforce.
Now, with the coordinates to At Attin, Jod looks to bring his former crew of pirates to the kids' home. But Wim, Fern, Neel, and KB are intent on stopping him, using their own ship to return home.

The seventh episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, "We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble", opens with Wim's father Wendle attempting to hack into the system at At Attin in order to obtain an access code. When a droid spots him, it takes him to Fara, Fern's mother. She initially tells him that he needs to trust the process but eventually relents because they haven't heard anything from The Supervisor, who won't send anyone outside of the planet's protective barrier shield.
The pair, along with Neel and KB's parents make their way to the forest and attempt to send a device outside of the barrier to relay a message to their children. Most are stunned by nearby droids, but Fara gets far enough away to send the device into space.
Speaking of space, Jod has now convinced Brutus and his former crew that At Attin is indeed real, but once they get there, they quickly see that the green, stormy planet is a danger. They don't believe him and attempt to take him to the airlock, but he fights his case, arguing that the proective shield creates an illusion. It's a very real illusion, apparently, because one of Brutus' men attempts to enter it and the ship is quickly destroyed.
They lose hope - and Jod very nearly loses his life in the airlock - until the Onyx Cinder appears. That's when Jod figures it out: It's the ship that is they key as it wasn't made by pirates. It can enter At Attin's system since it came from there. And with that, they use a tractor beam to draw the kids' ship towards them.
Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel don't go down without a fight, using a massive robotic claw to trap Brutus as he attempts to enter. However, Jod then uses the opportunity to shoot Brutus, killing him instantly and taking control of his crew once again. He then orders that crew to subdue and hold the kids and prisoners aboard their ship as they prepared to enter the At Attin atmosphere.
The ship then intercepts the message from At Attin, in which all of the kids' parents relay the importance of finding an Emissary who can take them home. The kids attempt to fight back and, through the use of some quick-thinking from Fern, claim the ship as their own. 33 knocks out Jod and helps the kids get home.
Home is where the treasure is
After escaping the pirates with the help of SM-33, Fern, Wim, Neel, and KB head into the stormy barrier protecting At Attin. In doing so, they finally see that Jod's theory about the Onyx Cinder ship was correct - anything made in At Attin is capable of passing through the barrier. Pirate ships also enter the barrier and are quickly wiped out by the force field's storm-like energy. When the Onyx Cinder passes through, the red lights turn green, allowing them through.
However, Jod has found his way onto the ship. 33 attempts to protect the kids, but the pirate uses his lightsaber to decapitate the droid. He then threatens to harm the children (and their parents when they arrive on the planet) if they don't relent and let him think. And with that, he plans to masquerade as the Emissary that the parents of At Attin are hoping will bring their kids home.
Upon touchdown, Jod is taken to the vault along with the kids and he spies the fortunes (and fortunes) that At Attin houses, gleefully laughing as he feasts his eyes upon all of the credits. The vaults are endless and there are 1,139 of them!
Meanwhile, Wim, Fern, Neel and KB are reunited with their parents in an extremely emotional reunion. However, the festivities are cut short when Jod exits the vault and shows off his lightsaber once again, as the credits roll.
It looks like Jod has taken out the droids in the surrounding area, which leaves him alone with the kids and their parents. He had previously threatened to harm them if the kids got in his way. So far, they have adhered to his demands, but it seems like he will now attempt to use this leverage once again.
Will he attempt to use the parents' resources to bring down the communications field and allow contact with the other ship?
If so, there is a big problem with that - the parents are all in deep trouble for violating the communications code when they sent out the device to make contact with their childrens' ship. And with that, the only person who can bring down the barrier is the Supervisor. The only question is: Who is the Supervisor?
The show has invested a lot into this mysterious Supervisor, so it's likely that we will get that reveal in the finale. It has to be a big one in order to make it worth the wait, and that has us all wondering if The Supervisor is none other than Tak Rennod - the legendary pirate who was thought to have vanished on his way to At Attin.
If he is The Supervisor, that could explain some of the planet's questionable policies, and why it's shielded from the rest of the universe. We know that Tak Rennod was a paranoid individual who wiped out his whole crew, but was he protecting At Attin for the right or wrong reasons?
We do know that his ship was buried deep within At Attin itself, so we know that he eventually made it there. But did an unlikely promotion to the role of Supervisor result in him staying there to keep the treasure for himself? Quite possibly, it seems.
The season finale of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew streams on Disney Plus on Wednesday, January 15.
