The finale season of Prime Video’s The Boys had to grab the attention of viewers immediately. Not because the show has been away for almost two years but because its audience has high expectations. All four seasons have delivered brutal fight scenes, heartbreaking deaths, and moments that come close to what’s happening in real life. Thankfully, showrunner Eric Kripke and the rest of the creative team started things off with a bang. Sadly, it came at the expense of A-Train.
In the season 5 premiere, A-Train saved the lives of Hughie and Marvin Milk. And when it came time to make up for the mistake he had previously made (accidentally killing Hughie’s girlfriend), he made sure that the past didn’t repeat itself, refusing to cower when Homelander caught up to him. He died laughing in his face and called him a loser. Then, in the second episode, The Boys found a way to test the Supe-killing virus on someone close to the strength and durability of Homelander: Soldier Boy. The experiment worked for a moment as Soldier Boy went down. Unfortunately, that didn’t last long. Right before the credits rolled, Soldier Boys sat up.
It was shocking that the virus worked, but there was no way that the character was going to stay dead. Jensen Ackles was seen in The Boys season 5 trailer alongside his friend and former Supernatural castmate Jared Padalecki (who’ll play Mister Marathon). Another reason it wouldn't have been a psych out is that the duo had to be on screen together with another Supernatural alumnus, Misha Collins.
The Boys season 5 episode 3 release date and time on Prime Video

What to expect in The Boys season 5 episode 3
In the upcoming episodes of The Boys season 5, we should look for Homelander to formulate a plan to go after the Boys. And if I had to guess what that would be, it’s that he’s going to create a new version of The Seven. That’s probably how Misha Collins’ and Jared Padalecki’s characters will be introduced to the show. With the addition of those two, Soldier Boy, Sister Sage, Black Noir, the Deep, and Homelander, that could make up Vought International’s newest premier superhero team.
Creating a new version of The Seven is a great idea, but two things come to mind: First, after Homelander scared the Deep so badly that he peed himself, will the Deep defect after realizing that A-train was right and that he’s a coward? Second, is the Black Noir we’re seeing the resurrected Black Noir that Homelander killed, and is that why he isn’t speaking?
There are plenty of questions that audiences still have - and considering that we are just two episodes into the final season, that's a good thing! They will undoubtedly continue to grow in scale as the show heads towards its series finale, and we couldn't ask for more than that. The answers will come as The Boys season 5 winds down. In the meantime, we're ready to go along with it for the ride!
