The final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu is here. The clip was unveiled by Lucasfilm during Disney's presentation at CinemaCon in Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, and it has very quickly accelerated excitement for the upcoming Star Wars movie.
The trailer is an emotional one and there are multiple reasons that it really stood out. Everything is much more polished, crisp, and clear in the movie's final trailer, and this definitely looks like a cinematic spectacle that deserves to be screened on IMAX. With that in mind, let's dive into some of the things that made it so great.
1. The music
Ludwig Göransson is back to score The Mandalorian and Grogu, and fans were given a sneak peek of his soundtrack in the trailer. The 3-time Academy Award winner used all of John Williams' most famous themes, including Yoda's theme, the Imperial March, and The Force Theme. These three pieces of music really stood out, added a cinematic feel to the trailer, and served as a great reminder that, after all, Din Djarin and Grogu are a part of the Star Wars galaxy, and their stories will be written into the fabric of Star Wars lore.
But what really stood out is Göransson's theme for Grogu and his use of Mando's theme. The most emotional scenes in the trailer use Grogu and Mando's music. Grogu's theme has been used in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. It represents his innocence and sense of wonder, but in the context of this trailer, it's used combined with the haunting screams of the Anzellans. It is heard when Din tells Grogu to leave on the Anzellan ship and when he faces off with the snake monster. Mando's theme is heard again at the end with shots of the Razor Crest. This is a very brief taste of what the maestro has in store.

2. A dose of humor - Grogu meets the Anzellans
Grogu first met the Anzellans in The Mandalorian Season 3, and he nearly squeezed the life out of one of them. In the trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, there's a hilarious and cute moment when Grogu arrives and meets a group of Anzellans who call him "The bad baby" and "The horrible baby." A wide-eyed Grogu stares back at Mando, who's clearly judging him, but this is one of the sweetest moments in the trailer.
All the footage hints that Grogu and his little friends will finally get along, and he may finally be allowed to hug them. It's nice to see Grogu meeting creatures that are his own size.

3. An emotional father and son moment
It's difficult to make out what happens in the movie based on its trailer, but there's one moment in it that has everyone talking. It looks like Din Djarin may be unconscious in a scene where Grogu is holding his hand. This emotional moment happens near the end of the trailer, but it has everyone speculating what will happen to Grogu's dad. Is Djarin gravely injured? Was Grogu too late in saving him, or did the little guy successfully Force-heal him?
We can only guess, but this brief glimpse of what looks like a very emotional scene brought many fans to tears. We sincerely hope that Din is okay, because no one wants to go to a family movie and watch a small child lose his father, but maybe we should pack tissues with us just in case.
The Mandalorian and Grogu will release in theaters on May 22. All three seasons of The Mandalorian are streaming on Disney Plus.
