The Punisher's awesome new look revealed ahead of his Disney Plus special

The Punisher is back, and he has never look more menacing. The anti-hero's new suit has been revealed ahead of the release of his Disney+ Special Presentation.

It might be hard to believe, but Jon Bernthal's Punisher has been around for nearly a decade on the small screen. He was first introduced during the second season of Netflix's Daredevil back in 2016. Shortly after that, the violent anti-hero would become so popular that he starred in two seasons of his own standalone series on the streaming platform. Unfortunately, the fate of all the "street-level" Marvel characters, such as Frank Castle and Matt Murdock, remained uncertain once the Disney and Netflix deal came to an end.

For many years, it seemed like we wouldn't see more of everybody's favorite tortured vigilante on the small screen, let alone in a movie theater. However, not only did the Punisher have a spectacular Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback in Daredevil: Born Again, but 2026 is set to be his biggest year yet. Audiences will see his big screen debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and he's set to have his own Special Presentation on Disney Plus. With so many Frank Castle appearances coming our way, it was just a matter of time before we got a glimpse at the anti-hero's new suit, and that day is finally here.

The Punisher gets a new look for his Special Presentation on Disney Plus

A new photo taken on the set of the Punisher Special Presentation unveils Frank Castle's new look, and, at long last, the skull logo is completely visible. After all, in Daredevil: Born Again, he only had one half of the logo fully painted, while the other half faded out—so it's nice to know this little detail will be overhauled.

Furthermore, the skull's shape is completely different this time around, and the Punisher is now sporting a long beard. Parallel to this, a set video also revealed that Frank's iconic trench coat will make a comeback since the Netflix era of the character. Granted, the costume might be missing white gloves or a white belt to more closely resemble its comic-book counterpart. But beyond that? It looks absolutely fantastic.

Interestingly enough, the Punisher Special Presentation is currently being filmed in New York, while production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently taking place in Glasgow, Scotland. However, Insider Daniel Richtman claimed that the Spidey sequence being shot will also feature Frank Castle. If that proves to be the case, then the following weeks might be extremely busy for Jon Bernthal, who would need to fly across the Atlantic Ocean to switch between MCU projects.

Considering that the Punisher will go against the likes of the wall-crawler and the Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, there's a very likely chance that the newly revealed costume won't be the only one he will get to wear next year. Fans have even theorized that he could wear the War Machine armor much like in comic book pages, even if this decision could prove to be extremely polarizing. On the bright side, it probably won't be long before pictures of Frank on the set of Spider-Man 4 make their way online and put an end to the speculation. Meanwhile, it's clear the character's essence will remain during his Special Presentation.

The Punisher Special Presentation will be released in 2026 on Disney Plus.
