The Handmaid's Tale

For years, the story of The Handmaid's Tale has gripped viewers across the world. Hulu's compelling adaptation of the Margaret Atwood novel made everyone sit up and pay attention when it debuted on screens in 2017. The thought-provoking tale earned a string of Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and even more nominations as viewers championed June's fight against the oppression of women in this dystopian world.

The Handmaid's Tale has had a heck of a run, streaming five seasons thus far. All of those have continued to grab attention and generate discussion. But there has been a particular conversation among fans about how much longer the show would go on, with many suggesting that there were opportunities from the third season onwards to end the series (and potentially allow Hulu to turn its attention to Atwood's sequel novel The Testaments). That answer eventually came, as the show was renewed for a sixth and final season ahead of season 5's debut - so fans knew they had a two-season stretch to enjoy before the credits roll on the series finale.

The Handmaid's Tale season 6 will premiere at some point in 2025. Hulu has yet to announce the exact timeframe for its release but we do know that, by the time 2025 comes to a close, the series will have ended its historic run.

Elisabeth Moss has been nothing short of excellent in her portrayal of June and the same will no doubt apply to the final season.
