9-1-1: Lone Star

The 9-1-1 cinematic universe has been in the headlines recently because it is once again expanding. With the original series finding new success on its new home of ABC (after jumping over from Fox), it has been revealed that a new spinoff series is in development. Unfortunately, its original spinoff series won't be around to be part of it.

Yes, 9-1-1: Lone Star will sadly conclude its run on Fox after five successful seasons. Now, five seasons is nothing to be ignored, but given how successful the show is, we can't help but feel like it's a little premature to be ending the series - especially when the veteran franchise is flourishing. But, in spite of its strong ratings (and the fact that it remains one of the network's most-watched programs), it will be coming to an end early next year due to reasons that have nothing to do with the show itself.

Rob Lowe and Gina Torres' beloved team of first responders have battled toxic clouds, ice storms, and countless near-death experiences over the years, and they will look to do the impossible again when they must deal with the fallout of an asteroid (yes, an asteroid) hitting Texas. It may be the end of 9-1-1: Lone Star, but its selfless characters are going to make sure that it isn't the end of the world.

9-1-1: Lone Star had a lot more to give, and it's a shame that it didn't have a longer run. But in typical 9-1-1 fashion, it's going to go out with a bang.
