In the previous comic book news in brief article, Exquisite Corpses No. 12 revealed new challengers in the fight for the rule of America, Diana’s friend was captured in Absolute Wonder Woman No. 19, and Logan’s adamantium claws were broken in Wolverine No. 18. This week holds more crucial moments you need to know, so let’s get to it.

Ragnarok

  • Title: Ultimates No. 23
  • Writer: Deniz Camp
  • Artist: Stipan Morian
  • Colors: Stipan Morian

Ultimate Thor hasn’t been seen in a while, and now we know why. It’s because he’s been fighting a war in the Nine Realms. The problem is that no one knows how time is moving. For example, a minute could be a century or a second a decade. No matter how long it truly was, gods, elves, and more died, and the war ended with the gods dying so they could be reborn. And without the influence of the Maker, it can restart properly.

He knew all along!

  • Title: The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace No. 2
  • Writer: Hannah Rose May
  • Artist: Kelsey Ramsay
  • Colors: Heather Breckel

The soon-to-be king Theo Belmont has consistently mentioned the Belmont Curse that plagues his family, while his grandfather (and current king) has continuously denied that it exists. In this issue, we see that the king always felt the entity’s presence. So rather than try to deal with it, he allowed the curse to continue. Now he could be the next in line to die, and not from his terminal illness.

Occult Affairs

  • Title: Zatanna No. 1
  • Writer: Jamal Campbell
  • Artist: Jamal Campbell
  • Colors: Jamal Campbell

Zatanna has become the Prime Magus, and that means she’s the overseer of magic in various realms. But now there’s a Department of Occult Affairs run by Mister Bones, who says it's needed to protect the United States. It's easy to guess that this new agency will eventually interfere with Zatanna’s work.

The Cure

  • Title: Punisher No. 3
  • Writer: Benjamin Percy
  • Pencillers: Jose Luis and Soares Pinto
  • Inkers: OREN JUNIOR and Jonas Trindade
  • Colorist: Frank D'ARMATA

Thanks to Micro, whenever Frank Castle is violent, he gets an unbearable headache. Luckily, Micro has the solution. Unfortunately, the only cure is a bullet that Micro made, and now Punisher has to trust him that it works. So, at the end of the issue, Punisher puts the shotgun to his chin and shoots. But, rather than blood, it’s machinery coming from his head.

Super Soldiers

  • Title: Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon No. 3
  • Writer: Chip Zdarsky
  • Artist: Luca Maresca
  • Colors: Jesus Aburtov

The secret of the Super Soldier Serum wasn’t cracked until David Colton became Captain America. However, I assumed that he was an anomaly like Steve Rogers. Well, according to this Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon No. 3, a lot of people went through the process of becoming super soldiers. This could lead to them all being antagonists in the upcoming Marvel Comics event, Avengers: Armageddon.

Alien roommates

  • Title: Planet She-Hulk No. 6
  • Writer: Stephanie Phillips
  • Artists: Aaron Kuder and Emilio Laiso
  • Colors: Sonia Oback

Planet She-Hulk ends with Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) having no memory of her time on Sakaar. That's including helping the planet's people overthrow their tyrannic regime. Luckily, Jen's former sparring buddy Juno came to Earth to tell Jen about her amazing feats. Juno also came in hopes of being She-Hulk’s roommate. Hopefully, this isn’t the end of the story.

An Army of Hulks

  • Title: Captain America No. 10
  • Writer Chip Zdarsky
  • Artist: Valerio Schiti
  • Colora: Romulo Fajardo Jr.

Steve Rogers has defeated Marius Wolf (aka, Salvation) and has given the Latverian people their country back. Sadly, that won’t stop Thaddeus Ross from invading and attacking the foreign country. What’s worse is he isn’t alone. Coming with him is his personal army of Hulks.

A new Sentinel

  • Title: Uncanny X-Men No. 27
  • Writer: Gail Simone
  • Artist: Luciano Vecchio
  • Colors: Matt Wilson

As if normal Sentinels weren’t bad enough, Gail Simone and Luciano Vecchio created unique ones that are nightmare fuel. These new versions (created by Trask Industries) eat mutant souls. What’s worse is they’re actually the results of experimented violent criminals.

For the record, they could be from an alternate reality, but these monsters could end up in the main continuity.
