What you need to know

Not many upcoming superhero movies fall into the “troubled” category, but Gambit probably deserves that label since it’s already had one director (Rupert Wyatt) leave before finding Liman. Rumors of script and budget problems have also circulated, and the result is a film that has a lot of question marks — one of which is its release date, as Fox had initially announced it for October 7, 2016.

Still, it has Tatum as the lead, the charismatic Cajun X-Man as its main character and now probably lowered expectations going for it. It’s finally going to get started with production in March, so we should know more about it very soon.
