Marvel's most famous synthezoid is back! It's been almost six years since we last saw Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he has finally returned to screens to headline his own spinoff series. And considering that the Multiverse Saga is about to end, VisionQuest couldn't have come quick enough. If you have already watched it, you'll know that it's absolutely worth the wait.
A spinoff of both WandaVision and Agatha All Along, the series brings back Paul Bettany as The Vision, who has been stuck between who he was and who he is now. Having been resurrected by SWORD using Wanda Maximoff's magic - and having his memories restored by a fictional version of himself created by Wanda - he has memories of the life he once lived, but none of the feelings associated with them. And to help him with that, he turns to the other AIs that have frequented the MCU - including James Spader's Ultron.
The first two episodes have premiered on Disney Plus together, but don't be expecting a binge release as this one has a very unique release schedule.
VisionQuest reverts to weekly releases with the next episode (but there is a positive twist)
VisionQuest episode 3 premieres on Disney Plus on Tuesday, October 20, at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 8:00 p.m. CT, and 7:00 p.m. MT. Episode 4 will arrive along with it, premiering at the exact same time, meaning that we still get to enjoy a double-episode drop of the series for another week. And it won't be the only week on the horizon that we get one of those.
While the somewhat unusual double-episode release format may have allowed some fans to believe that Marvel Studios might have transitioned to a binge-release format, that's not the case. But we will admit that the double-episode releases are a bonus that we didn't expect - especially as the show is a part of the WandaVision Trilogy and both previous entries (WandaVision and Agatha All Along) only featured two-episode premieres, before reverting to a single-episode release format (Agatha had a double finale, too).

But VisionQuest's release schedule is a bit of an anomaly. Originally set to air / stream on Disney Plus on Wednesdays, Marvel Studios made the last-minute decision to move it to Tuesdays instead. Moreover, originally expected to have a weekly release format throughout the fall, its first episodes will be released across three weekly double-episode drops. After that the seventh episode will be released on its own the week after that, setting the stage for the finale in November.
Although Marvel hasn't explicitly addressed the odd release schedule, it's likely down to the impending release of Avengers: Doomsday in theaters. With the studio's focus on promoting the Multiverse Saga's larger-than-life movie in December, front-loading VisionQuest will help shorten its run and ensure that it gets the focus through October and into November, allowing them to focus solely on it before pivoting to the MCU movie through November and December.
VisionQuest releases new episodes on Disney Plus each Tuesday.
