Never ask Wilson Fisk what happened during the events of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 4. If you're up to date on the Man Without Fear's latest Disney+ adventure, you know that it has been one hell of a ride for everyone involved.
Matt Murdock and Karen Page have done everything in their power to overthrow New York City's current mayor, but they have had barely any impact on the grand scheme of things. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk is being pressured by the CIA to deliver a big cargo of artillery weapons without the whole world noticing. As if that wasn't enough, Bullseye just made things all the more complicated for all of the parties involved. But before we break down and speculate about what's to come in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 5, beware: There will be major spoilers ahead. If you don't want any surprises ruined, turn back now.

If you kept reading, I must assume you know that Vanessa might've just bitten the dust in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. So, how will the next episode deal with those huge ramifications? Well... there's a chance that maybe it won't at all.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 5 might be one big flashback, with Jessica Jones making her MCU debut at the end
Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 5 is titled "The Grand Design," which doesn't seem to tease anything concrete at first glance. After all, Episode 4's title "Gloves Off" confirmed that we would see New York City's mayor participate in the charity fight that was teased earlier in the season. Furthermore, episode 3's title, "The Scales & the Sword," suggested that we would see Swordsman in action, which is exactly what happened. But what about next week's release?
"The Grand Design" is a title that could tease a big, overarching story that has been years in the making and only makes sense when you look at it from its very end. It could represent a plot point that started many seasons ago, and its resolution won't happen until now. Well, thanks to multiple Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailers, we know that dead fan-favorites such as Foggy Nelson and James Wesley are bound to make an appearance, which means we're likely to watch flashback sequences. So, wouldn't it make sense for those past events to play out in an episode called "The Grand Design"?
It would also be thematically fitting for Wilson Fisk to reminisce about the good old days when Vanessa was still alive, especially now that it seems she's gone for good. Besides, it would be the perfect chance for Marvel to dive a bit further into the whole Red Hook port storyline and the role Foggy Nelson had to play in it.

But while flashback sequences are likely to be at the center of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 5, it is unlikely that we'll just witness previous events the entire time, without the story moving forward. As such, it isn't far-fetched to assume that the final minutes of the episode will give us a glimpse of what's to come, and that's exactly where Jessica Jones could come in.
Episode 4 culminated with Matt Murdock and Benjamin Poindexter going on the run, trying to escape the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Thanks to a recently released trailer, we know these two iconic characters will have a chat in Matt's childhood church, so perhaps that's where they will attempt to hide after their little charity incident. Furthermore, we've also seen that Jessica Jones will talk with Matt inside a church, just after the latter seems to have received a beating. So if we put two and two together, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that Jessica could be the big cliffhanger ending of episode 5.
The first half of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has come and gone, with critics claiming that the four episodes to come are the best of the whole show. Fortunately, it won't be long before we discover what Marvel has in store for us.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
