After seven violent and exhilarating weeks, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has officially come to its end. But while we'll miss watching Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Benjamin Poindexter, and Wilson Fisk take over the small screen week after week, this isn't the last time we'll see them fight for the soul of Hell's Kitchen. That's right, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has big plans for the Man Without Fear and his ensemble of supporting characters.
Filming for Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is currently underway, and audiences already have a good idea of what to expect from the upcoming batch of episodes. The final moments of the Season 2 finale gave us a clear idea of the show's upcoming storyline. Furthermore, set pictures revealed that Jessica Jones won't be the only Defender making a comeback. Excitement levels are at an all-time high, and fans are eager to see the next chapter in Matt Murdock's life. So the question now becomes, when will that happen?
Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is likely to be released in March 2027
Ever since its inception, Daredevil: Born Again was envisioned as a series with yearly releases. So far, Marvel has stuck to that plan, as the first two episodes of Season 1 were released on March 4, 2025, and the opening of Season 2 came our way on March 24, 2026. With such a track record, it's easy to assume we'll see a similar scenario play out for Season 3. Better yet, there's also evidence to help that case.
During an interview with Agents of Fandom, the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum, reaffirmed the commitment to putting out a new season of Daredevil: Born Again every March, for as long as people keep tuning in to watch Matt Murdock's adventures:
"We're like a normal studio, developing more than we make and only putting forward what we think is the best stuff, and stuff that can sustain for multiple seasons. Like Daredevil: Born Again is an annual release, every March, for as long as people enjoy the show."
A key detail to consider is the series' filming schedule. Principal photography for season 2 began on Feb. 28, 2025, and it ended in July 2025. However, things have been a little bit behind for Season 3. Production began around March 19, 2026—three weeks later compared to last year. And given the fact that Season 2 was released at the very end of March, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that we could be looking at an April premiere drop going forward due to this slight delay.
At the time of writing this, Marvel hasn't announced an official release date for Daredevil: Born Again season 3. However, filming is expected to wrap in July 2026, coinciding with the end of production from last year. So, if that plan comes to fruition, it would be all but confirmed that a late March release would be on the cards. After all, keeping this tradition alive would also benefit the series' marketing, given that fans would always expect March to be the month of the Devil.
San Diego Comic-Con will take place from July 23 to 26, and Marvel is confirmed to have its iconic Hall H panel there. With that in mind, chances are that an official release date for Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will be revealed there. After all, the upcoming batch of episodes is definitely coming our way early next year, so the sooner Marvel unveils its plans, the better.
