Warning: Possible Spoilers for Batman: Assault on Arkham

I just bought the Blu-Ray of Batman: Assault on Arkham last night and after watching it twice I am ready to give my readers my review of the title! First of all can I just say that the below trailer for Assault on Arkham is definitely misleading, as the suicide mission that Task Force-X is sent on has nothing to do with the Joker’s dirty bomb. I also have to say that this is the first DC Animated film that I do not recommend for families as this film is not really appropriate for children.

More from Animation

I think I may have mentioned this at some point before but I do really like the animation of Assault on Arkham. I think if they were attempting to make the two dimensional animation similar to the animation of the Rocksteady video games they did a fairly good job, it does remind me of the games.

Harley Quinn is absolutely adorable in this movie, I can’t get enough of her cute crazy antics. I actually wish the relationship between Harley and Deadshot had been a bit more developed before the confrontation with the Joker, it was just a bit of a let down. Although, it is entirely possible that the relationship never got beyond a one night stand in the comics I have only ever read the first issue of the New 52 New Suicide Squad #1 so I wouldn’t know.

Overall I really did enjoy the film and would probably give it a four out of five stars as I was a little disappointed by the relationship between Deadshot and Harley Quinn and thought that the trailers were a bit misleading.
